Rules for the matches themselves:
Keep them comic related.
Matches between non-comic characters will be closed. The rule for characters will be this: Are they viewed primarily in a comic medium, or do they originate in comics? *Manga/anime, not allowed. Star Wars, not allowed. Other groups or individuals will be dealt with on an individual basis
* - Amendments: Non comic characters, or characters that are primarily known from movies/cartoons, but are of a similar genre as action hero comics, are now allowed.
Examples:
Video Game Characters: God Of War, Metal Gear, Halo, etc.
Action Movie Characters: Terminator, The One (Jet Li), The Bride (Kill Bill), etc.
Cartoon: Transformers, Dragonball Z & GT (considered canon continuity), Centurions, Thundercats, etc.
Stipulations are that there must be a "mainstream" comic book character of comparable ability and tier participating in the battle. Consider this the "No Goku Vs. Batman (No GvB) Rule. Evidence must be provided to substantiate the claims made in arguments for these characters as with any other. To that end, video evidence (Youtube videos and other clips, screen shots) will be admissible.
A character bio must be provided for the character.
For characters with multiple versions (comic, movie, cartoon, manga, anime, base*, equipped*, etc.) please state in the topic heading which version of the character is being used.
* - Videogame characters from certain videogames, particularly RPGs, accumulate abilities throughout their adventures. For this reason it is necessary to state whether you are using the "base"(meaning primary abilities only, for example; Kratos with only the Blades of Chaos and his fighting skills as of the beginning of God of War I) or "equipped" (using all accumulated skills, weapons, and powers from their respective storylines, meaning Kratos with all spells, powers, weapons, etc. he gathered through his adventures in God of War I & II).
All video game characters are their storyline, non-playable versions. No gameplay footage will be admissible as evidence.
Obvious spite threads will be closed at the mods discretion. Abuse of this Amendments will result in threads being closed and further disciplinary action if necessary.
The "No Spiderman Vs. Firelord [SvsFL]" Rule
At times, for the sake of the plot, characters that are immensely more powerful than their opponent will "job" to carry on the plot of the story, even though the characters powers and history would clearly show that they are more than capable of destroying their opponent. For this reason we have a "No Spiderman vs Firelord" [No SvsFL] Rule. This rule prohibits the use of such instances of PIS from being used as evidence in debates.
Just post battles here.
This is a "versus" forum. A forum dedicated to comic character matches. Any thread that isn’t a match will get closed.
NOTE: Characters involved in a fight should be written in thread title.
Maximum number of contenders
Let's keep it maximum 3 versus 3, with the exception of teams. More than 2 characters in a match is hard to discuss, threads like that often disappear in 2 days, imagine 8 or 10 characters involved...
(Now, in some cases, an exception or two might be made with some threads. It's usually a judgement call on the moderator's part. But, of course, if a thread has like 25+ characters, it WILL be closed. NO exceptions)
No Spite Threads
Now, a spite thread is usually considered as a thread opened to intentionally be one-sided (because the poster may not like that character, or opened to goad another person into responding, etc.). Moderators will decide if or if not a thread was made out of spite. Spite threads are NOT tolerated and will be closed, and the poster warned (or more severe consequences will be taken if that poster's been warned multiple times).
No “Members” Threads
Forum members should be left out of battles and thread titles unless you have explicit permission from the person and it has been approved by a Moderator.
That's it people. This is your forum, love it, take care of it, make it shine, make it the BEST versus forum on earth..... but don't ruin it breaking any of the rules above, or KMC general rules: http://www.killermovies.com/forums/misc.php?action=rules
