Apokolips is the darkest of all nightmare worlds in the DCU. The question is not whether Thanos could conquer it. The question is why would he want it ? Endless supplies of Para-Demon shock-troops, the legions of Hunger Dogs slaving in the Fire Pits. Not much beyond that.
The population in general is cowed beneath Darkseid's shadow. If he chose to, Thanos could impersonate Darkseid convincingly enough to run the place just as well as the real deal. I mean, if Hank Henshaw could do it, how tough could it be ?

Henshaw had certain advantages that Thanos doesn't...at least for that situation.

What does the boomtube do to people?
I mean does it change the size of the new gods?
Or makes normal people to be equal to them in size?
Both. It equalizes the size of those traveling through it relative to the destination. Enlarging for 4th world, and reducing for regular reality.
