You can't be both, JIA. You can't say, "Oh, I love you so very much.Oops, sorry, gotta send you to hell now."
Sigh, here we go again. I feel like I am teaching remedial Bible lessons. Nevertheless, I love you (in a godly, Christian, platonic, and purely platonic way) so, around on this merry-go-round I will go with you again, and again, and again, and again, and... *fades into oblivion*
God is Love and His love is demonstrated in the fact that He sent Jesus to die for your sins. (Read that again because there is going to be a pop quiz, comprehensive exam, and 100 page, single-spaced book report all due within 5 min. of you reading this post.)
If you reject God's love Gift to you then you deserve to go to Hell because you have spit in His face, and spurned His only provision for keeping you out of Hell.
And again I will answer that I do not believe in God the Judge. All his past actions (since Jesus came to earth) have shown that God is merciful and loving and would not let those beings whom he loves go to hell.
Jesus went to hell for everyone, JIA, not just those who can or will ask for it. It goes back to the example of the autistic person who does not have the capability to "ask Jesus into their hearts." There are too many exceptions to the rules there, JIA. The Jews believed, when Jesus came, that he would be an avenging warrior who would go into battle and miraculously solve all their problems for them. He didn't - he did everything peacfully, and taught people what they needed to know, he ate with outcasts and sinners.
I don't believe that Jesus will suddenly morph into AVENGING ANGEL on Judgment Day. I believe that he will welcome ALL of us with open arms and we shall ALL enter heaven. He died for all of us, he wiped our slates clean. I don't believe he needs us to jump through the hoop of accepting that he did it.
And, again, I have no problem contradicting scripture because I don't thinking the bible is inerrant. How could it be? It's passed through oral tradition, translations, anachronisms and customs and idioms have had to be translated... I think the most important thing we can get out of the bible is that God is love and that we should bring the kingdom of heaven to earth by feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, comforting the sick, etc. By dignifying huiman life. If you want to follow every single rule in the bible, I really hope you're not wearing a multi-fabric shirt right now, JIA. Because that's an offense outlined in Leviticus.
So you can repeat what you've said before, but I'm still going to stand by my principles. Love and Condemnation do not go hand in hand. They never have. They never will. God is Love, therefore God does not Hate. He loves us. He understands us - how could he not? He created us.
I think that you've got to widen your point of view, JIA, in order to see more of what's going on around you.

I'm awestruck! You hit almost all of my points with one post! Great!
All the points that the Bible firmly stands against.
I'd love it if everything would end up happy for everyone and we were all to go to heaven, but that's not how it will be. People are in hell, and people are going to go to hell--good people, even. And there will be bad people in heaven, people who have committed sins unforgivable by mankind.
But, with the good men in hell and the evil men in heaven, God's righteousness, impartiality, and eternal love are declared for all to see. It's as clear as day, though--and this is not a slight against you--you simply cannot see it.

As I have told you in times past siriuswriter in terms of the Bible, I don't care what you do not believe--it is still the Truth.
God is righteous Judge (according to the Bible whether you believe this or not).
Um.. I don't believe in god. I could care less about God's impartial-ness. The point is that JIA needs a more open mind to the rest of the world... not just the bible, based on thousand year old beliefs. The world has drastically changed since then. Morals differ, the constitution has been signed, Blacks have been freed from Slavery...

So because you do not believe in God He somehow is supposed to cease to exist? (That line of reasoning is hilarious.)

I never said that. I merely stated that any argument you make baring his name is not going to make any difference to me. I cannot comment on what you believe it's simply that an argumant is pointless if the point you're trying to make holds no baring when the person you're arguing with...
