Black Hawk Down (RP)

"No, there is no telling if this will be like all the other times. This time we will wait for "Irene" before we start boarding." Just as he was talking he heard a radio transmission. *"This is Colonel Aresdale. The code word that will iniciate operation Irene will be "Irene" itself. That is all." Jacob looked up and got his gun ready. "I have a feeling that this won't be a fluke like all the rest." He smiled and made sure his gear was ready before he did one last pleliminary check of his gear and he boarded the Black Hawk. He secured his gear to his seat and jumped down.

Gaven didn't hear the radio transmission because he didn't have his helmet on but he could tell by the look on Books face that it was serious. Gaven grabbed his helmet and put it on but didn't strap it yet. He checked his gun and put the silencer on it and made sure the scope was working and accurate. Then he held it up in one hand and heard the black hawks propeller start to rotate and he stood next to Books.

"Well I can tell your serious now so should i atleast go assemble the troops and wait till you come and give them the order to start boarding or do you want me to tell them to pack up there shit and board the hawks now?"

Gaven said as he turned around and started to walk backwards towards all the other troops that where in alpha company under the command of his and Books.

(hey books you can call me by my last name if you want to or or you can just keep calling him gaven doesn't matter to me.)

From his lonely corner Royce grabbed his jacket and almost instantly had it equiped. He walked trough the room and as he walked he made sure everything was the way it should. He made sure his jacket was fastened and that his watch had the correct time. He passed trough the locker room where he walked by Riza. With a gentle nod he stopped by his locker and opened it. They were most definatly going by air and by that he had the perfect equipment. He picked out a helmet with a visor, a thick bullet vest, a thick pair of leather gloves and an leather overall. With his work, it was of high importance that he was protected.

He continued to walk, patting Riza on the back and continued into the armory and his shelf. He picked out the massive KSP90B Machinegun and held it in his arms. He picked then up the two Walther P99, and put them in his gunpockets. With a grin on his face, he strapped the KSP90B around his shoulder and neck, making it hang over his chest. They were going into the heart of combat. He picked up a box that was under his shelf and opened it slowly. In the box was grenades, mines and other explosive devices. He one by one picked up the devices and tied them to different positions all over his body, before shutting the box again. He was armed from heel to head with explosives, a heavy machinegun and dual pistols. He grinned as he exited the armory.

He walked out to the chopperpad, where he passed Hazel. Hazel was a member of his squad, "Charlie". He smiled at her from behind his visor, pretenting to be totaly uninterested, even though she always visited his mind. He continued walking over the ground and towards the Blackhawks. He smiled and stopped by Gaven who headed away. He saluted him with respect before continue to one of the blackhawks. As he climbed onboard he took another look at first Hazel. She had stickied to his mind like no one else. He then turned to look at Gaven and had a hard time not smiling. He always mocked those soldiers. Those who walk around light. Those who think that the M4A1 or the M16 is the future, and simply rely on medium weighted weapons because "they are accurate". He himself knew better, as his machinegun was one of the most effective around at modern time. At least what he thought.

He leaned back in the blackhawk with a grin on his face. All that remained now was the takeof and they were to head into the heart of combat. Oh, what Royce had waited for this day. To watch the troops charge into the battlefield and make everything right.

((Everyone seems ready to me. If you are in a different unit just make the chopper leave at a different time.))

The old communication of the base cracked to like with the sound of Colonel Aresdale's voice. "Irene. I repeat Irene. Green light to engage operation Irene.

Book's blood ran faster then ever and his heart pounded in his chest. He sprinted to where his platoon was grabbing their gear. "C'mon boys, we are heading off to Mogadishu. Get it in Gear!" At that he turned around and head back for the chopper. Once on board he fastened his safety harness and watched as one by one his unit piled in. Checking the condition of his equipment and weaponry, he watched as the two pilots slowly walked towards the Black Hawk. He made a hand motion trying to say hurry up and they all started to laugh. "ETA is 15 Minutes!!"

Vlad laughed as the Black Hawk launched, and then continued to tell one of the Alpha comrades, the team he was chosen to join by Aresdale, about the guns in Russia. "No, no no. In Russia we have much more powerful guns." explained Vlad as he tried to emote how powerful they were "Back in Russia, we call them them the Kalasnikov" he kept on explaining. The soldier looked back at him. "It could shoot through walls too, not like this piece of..." continued Vlad as he looked at the M16 that was handed to him. He wasn't allowed to take any of the weapons from Russia, and was handed the American one instead.

"Vell, I think ve better get ready for action" said Vlad to the rest of the Alpha team as he double checked his M16 was fully functional and ready.
"I almost died one time on the battlevield, my gun was stuck" he added.

(I'm trying to replace some letters with "v" to give him a Russian accent 😉 )

Kain sat in the Alpha copter checkin his M4A1 carbine, looking around the chopper he saw the Russian Vlad and a few others in the Alpha squad. No one really stood out except the Russian he talked alot of sense about the Kalasnikov and it was much better than these cheap arse Carbines.

"One grain of sand and these Carbines will jam up! Keep 'em clean boy!" he said with a smile. Quickly he checked his berreta. "Hopefully we can do this quickly" he said across the copter trying to start a conversation.

"Rember, we don't launch until all other choppers are loaded and give the signal. Also, no heroics on this mission. We don't need to lost anyone on a routine mission like this one. Is that clear soldiers!?" A resoundinh "HOORAH" came from most of the men in the chopper. He placed his gun down next to him and lowered his head. "Some of us may not make it back from this mission so keep that in mind all of you. You guys are like brothers to me! Now let's do this!"

As her squad leaders reported in in loud, distinct voices she popped a crisp defiant salute, and snapped her arm back into place. The frantic voices around her set her into gear and she let out a soft grunt.

" Charlie company, fall out and fall in with the rest of the battalion. "

As they did so Hazel turned. One of her company-mates caught her eye. Royce. A hint of a smile seemed to curl up gently on the corner of his lips, but in a moment it was gone. She eyed his back as he walked toward one of the based hawks. He was an interesting one. he always carried the heaviest ammo, and never dared complain. Even so, he remained quite quiet...but always kind and respectful. Hazel frowned slightly. Often enough it seemed he was only tolerating her. She considered this, rolling it around in her mind for a moment. Though there were some she didn't favour, she took care in all of them. That was how a team had to function. She heard book yell for mostly alpha, but nodded and followed around the back of the launch pad. She eyed their C.O wearily.

" Sir, Am I on snipe or piloting? "

She asked, looking past him to the other camo clad soldiers scrambling to take their places.

*Alpha's pilot*

"This is Alpha Squad, Super Six 2 is fired and ready to go! Who all else is ready to do this thing?"

((Just to signal that Alpha unit is willing and ready to go))

Vlad smiled at Kain. "Vell, it vill be quickly, but it depends quickly for the best of whom" he continued. "Ve could be dead in fifteen seconds if something goes wrong. You know, if someone throws a grenade in the wrong direction" Vlad laughed as he recalled a time. "And ve vere supposed to learn how to use grenades, and one of my comrades, Stas, had thrown it in the direction he vas supposed to. He threw it too hard, and it hit the aim targets that vere nearby. It bounced off and flew tovard us, It vas about to land on us ven it exploded, sending shards in all directions. He stayed without a proper meal for a few months, I think, after that"

Gaven had jumped up into the blackhawk and taken his seat and strapped on his helmet and slide the visor down before looking around the hawk and noticing that alpha company was ready to take then he heard "the russian" jabbering about negitive stuff and how the russians were better then the americans and it kind of got on his nerves. He looked over in "the russians" direction and smoothly said.

"You damn russians are always negitive about everything and you think you are the best at everything and you think you have the best of everything. Soldier I would advise you shut up about Russia, and something going wrong because as a squad leader I don't want anything to go wrong and jeperdize the mission or put one of my troops in trouble. So now if anything does go wrong I will blam you as to it being you were the one talking about. And then if i do find out about it and it was your fault I will have no problem getting you stripped of your rank and power. So just keep quite and let everyone relax and take in hopefully not there last breaths of air on american soil alive and not injured. And might I add while in the air only suad leaders commanders and LT's are allowed to talk unless they give a soldier the right to speak. So now i'm done talking to you and just deal with what you get or don't use it at all."

Gaven said as he looked away from "the russian" and to the other soldier that had encouraged him on the American weapons being crap.

"Soldier Kain! shut your mouth and don't encourage "the russian" if you two soldiers don't get your minds focused now you are going to jeperdize this mission so get focused. Also if you two soldiers think Russia is so much better than America get the hell off of my blackhawk and go join the russian military. You are a American soldier and your a American soldier because you LOVE your country and want to protect it! Now talking about how much better Russia is then America makes me think you two are spies and are going to pull something on us. Now i'm going to have to watch you two closely and that is not good because it takes my full concentration on the mission away because i have to focus on the mission and watching you two soldiers that think America isn't good enough for you!"

Gaven said in a harsh tone. As he turned away from the two soldiers and looked at Books and whispered in his ear.

"I'm sorry Sir but it just seems to me like they love Russia more then who they are fighting for and might I add and you remember that I my older brother Darren was killed in action on a mission with you."

Gaven said as he looked at every soldier on the alpha company blackhawk and said.

"Don't anybody ever dis honor the American name like these two fellow soldiers here! You fight for America because you love America! Fighting in and for the American army isn't just a job it's a job you do because you love your country and want to protect what you love! Only myself and 1st Sargent Books know this but his friend and my older brother 1st Sargent Darren Davis was killed in action by a damn Russian! So if I seem to hate the Russians I have a very strong right to be! That is all."

Gaven said once again in a harsh tone before he looked out the side of the blackhawk and grabbed the handle and slid the door to the blackhawk shut ready to take off.

"Sorry sir, I'm only stating the truth that these god for saken guns are a pile of crap sir!" he said to Gaven, "And Sir, the 'Russian' has a name, you should try using it some time". He looked over to Vlad raising his eyebrows muttering under his breath "ignorant ****". Kain wasnt even a born and bred American, he was born in Ireland, in the United Kingdom, and sent to America at 19. "You know what is agood rifle! The Sa80!" he said with a broad smile

Gaven looked around then he heard what the dam dis loyal solider say something about him and something about Russia again and he lost it. Gaven got up from his seat and walked over to the un loyal soldier and grabbed him by the necked and picked him up and slammed him up against the black hawk wall. And turned of his com link and whispered in the soldiers ear just so the two of them could hear.

"listen hear you little b!tch. My brother died serving his country he was killed in action by your beloved russians."

Gaven whispered in his ear as he gripped the soldiers throught tighter.

"And unless you have q higher rank than me you can't tell me to do shit soldier!".

Gaven finished and walked back to his seat and just stared at the soldier wanting to kill him so bad right now.

He'll regret that

His eye's focused on Gaven "So Vlad, hows it like being in a new Country? Miss Russia at all?". Kain checked his equipment making sure everything was in order. "Bet you can't wait till you get to leave America! Soon as were done here im going back to Ireland now that should be some sweet R an R!" He laughed slightly his eyes looking at the rest of alpha team "They don't have any rifles there! Only Potatoes!" He said with a broad grin.

Vlad kept quite at Gaven's remarks, but he will sure have payback one time.

"I'm not even sure! Do you know how harsh the weather is in Russia? The weather here is much better" Vlad replied, smiling as his new comrade. "Thanks for taking my back"

Then Vlad turned to Gavon. "If you ever talk about mother Russia like that again, you better have a battalion of troops all nearby you.. I am here vrom the United Nations to see to it that none of you Americans try to do anything tricky."

"Heh, remember, vhen Vorld Var 2 started, both of our countries vere preety much the only ones actually vighting for most of the var? Americans stayed in their little safehouse continent, until they realized what would happen if VE lost the var and how much they would be screved if the Nazi tried to assault them" implored Vlad as he turned back to Kain, with a fascination of how different Americans can be. Some want war, some don't.

"The weather is pretty great in the U.S" he looked around the chopper "one of the few things" he muttered under his breath. "Can't wait to get down on the ground".

"Anyone got any idea of what were facin down there? Don't wanna be shooting any civilians" He looked around the chopper again waiting for an answer.

Book just put his face in his hands at how undisciplined his team was turning out to be. The last thing he wanted was for two of his units having a fued right in the middle of all out war.

"That's ennough out of the two of you. If you don't calm down I'll personally throw you off this Black Hawk myself. Is that clear soldiers!?"

He then stood up and walked to where the pilots where so he could get a little peace from his unit.

*Alpha Squad's Pilot*

"We are approuching the designated LZ. We will all fast rope down once Seargent Book has securely reached the ground and dropped a smoke grenade. Once he has done so you will all fast rope down secure the position as quickly and quietly as possible. We will be cover fire for Beta Squads' team as they move in to secure and capture the targets and move back to the LZ. Is your mission clear?"

The chopper stayed in mid-air about forty miles from Mogadishu waiting for the other pilots to give the mission perameters and to give their notification lights. Delta's notification lights flahed on then off quickly allowing the other pilots to know that they werte ready to go. Now all that was left was Beta and Charlie and they would be good for the mission.

Gaven looked around then strapped his helmet on. Lowered his night vision and thermal goggles over his visor and turned them on. Out of his left eye he could now see green and black and out of his right eye he could see all blue black and everyones body temperature. He then put his gloves on and strapped them around his wrist. He turned on his com link to a private channel only the leaders were on like himself, books, and the charlie leaders.

"Alright Books im ready to drop with you. Im going to scan the LZ and surrounding area with my night vision to make sure that it is clear."

Gaven said as he grabbed the handle to the blackhawks sliding door and opened it. He looked around and scanned the perimeter and saw something but it looked like a animal. Atleast he hoped it was one because he couldn't tell from this far away.

"Boy get that night vision off now! It is two in the after noon. They have no idea that we are even planning this search and capture. Further more no one will rope down after me until I give the direct signal authorizing you to. And for a last reminder it's Book!"

After saying this two other lights flashed and he slid down teh line leaving the squad to wait for his signal. He made it all the way to the ground and moved to an adjacent building. Seeing nothing but "civilians" running around in a panic he motioned for his squad to repel down and join him at this position.

Book watched as civilians ran around in a mad panic and knew that any one of them could be carrying a weapon. The only thing he hated was being unsure and at the moment no one could be trusted and from what he saw from his team they were going to very useless if their performance kept up the way it had.

((This is 1994 we don't have opticle imaging that sophiticated and we have radios not communicators built into our helmets.))
