Barbossa and Jack the Monkey were wonderful in AWE.
My favorite Barbossa moment? The conversation between him and Jack on the beach while gazing into the eye of the dead Kraken. It was a delightful, wonderful scene, where for just one moment Jack and Barbossa aren't wearing their masks and are genuinely speaking to one another as world-weary legends who are fighting to keep their identity in a shifting, changing world that seems to have no place for them.
*happy sigh*
I loved that scene with the kraken too!
Seems Hector is a 'glass half empty' type of guy lol. 😄
I loved his entrance, "And what makes you think she's alone?"
*squee*
He's like the responsible parent. 😎
And I loved how the whole team switched sides from the last movie! Barbossa seemed to be looking out for liz, will, ragettie, and pintel in this one. He adopts those who jack ousts. 😛 Like in Davy Jones' locker, (with the group standing behind him), "And where will ye be going jaaack?"
He does seem to take on a parenting role of sorts, doesn't he? Even his manipulations of them aren't that bad, and after Elizabeth's (full of cheese but stirring) speech he really joined in with the rest of them.
I think it's interesting that he really did marry Will and Elizabeth in the battle, even though he WAS busy. I think he really got a kick out of performing a marriage and fighting at the same time.
As much as I love the trio, the movie is NOTHING without Barbossa and the other pirates. I truely love Barbossa, even though he is a supporting role, he helped the movie from sinking (not that the movie was horrible, he just gave it much more float-ability)
By the way guys, I have a new ship. It's called 'Bapple'.
Barbossa + Apple = LOVE
