New Warriors # 1

Ive been looking forward this title since the end of CW. I wasnt expecting much when I bought it but I gotta say, Its pretty good! I was surprised that 2 of the main characters introduced are former mutants.

The story seems interesting enough and Beak's return was pretty cool

Who is that at the end of the issue? I really liked the issue but I read through it in like a couple of minutes, it felt small, like Grey Gargoyle.

No he lost the X gene and we saw him in that comic reporting on all the lost mutants.

They fail at depicting Sofia. This is almost like the BS liefeld pulled on Jubilee. The depowered beak looked pretty different as well...

It's good to see them back on the screen though.

strange dream to be having, especially when she was in an apparent fight to the death at the moment wanda re-rewrote reality. they could've done a better job identifying her, especially since she seems very different than when we last saw her.

To answer the earlier question, Beak returned to 616 during the start of Exiles World Tour when they made a stop in the altered 616 House of M reality.

I agree, Sofia does seem a lot different. When she was first introduced she couldn't speak English at all. Though her native tongue being Spanish means there are certain neighborhoods in NYC where she would feel right at home....

Though her father was quite wealthy, he detested her mutancy and I figured he would have been quite happy to find out about her losing her powers. Perhaps they had a falling out, that could explain her current state of affairs.

seems weird that she just transitioned to having her own apartment, a job, speaking with attitude and american-ized speech patterns, and making reference to "the man," just because she's not a mutant anymore.
