I like new games thats why i hate mario and sonic. Excuse me for having standards in playing a video game that requires a large portion of my free time. Most games that release do infact suck. That is not the point of my last post however
That's how I felt at first. But then I got Super Mario Brothers for the DS lite. I'm really enjoy it! Feels familiar yet so fresh. Plus the mini-games have been quite fun.
Sonic, I understand.
Mario on the other hand, every game that has been released have been very good to classic. The only one that hasnt been great was Sunshine, but every other game have been amazing.
I'm talking about mario games, and not the non platform games.
But most of those have been good too. Some are alright, but still playable while some have been great. Paper Mario games have been excellent while the sport titles have been good.
I dont see the difference between Mario games and the countless M rated games that are being released. They're the same game also, but instead of using one character, they use an stereotypical character that always the same.
Heck, just last night I played demo's for Hour to Victory, Vampire Rain and Tenchu 2 and all three are exactly the same as any other genre related game.
Hour to Victory is Medal of Honor, Call of Duty wrapped in an package with a bit of the top down 2d game Commando's.
Vampire Rain is an carbon copy of Splinter Cell and Tenchu 2 is another stealth action game but more of the lines of Metal Gear Solid.
They dont add anything to the genre so they're just the same as Mario games. Atleast, Mario games add something different to the mix each game.

And how. But Sonic & the Secret Rings was good. Not great, just good. Too many faults but at least they finally managed to put out a good Sonic game plus it gives you a good sense of speed.
Sonic Adventure 1+2, Sonic Heroes, Shadow the Hedgehog, and Sonic the Hedgehog Next-Gen SUCKED!!! Handheld Sonic games (Advance 1,2,3, and Sonic Rush) are just as good if not better then those on the Genesis.

Sonic Adventure wasnt bad, it just had some flaws but the platforming was pretty fun. All the rest sucked, while all the new Mario platform games have been great. The only OK one was Sunshine but it wasnt even that bad...it was good.
Really, I liked that.
I just finished Twilight Princess (amazing game I must say), I kinda of wished for Wind Waker's graphic. Something about them, I felt it was more real in terms of subject matter in the Zelda universe.
Funny actually on how bored I am after finishing TP. I havnt had a game that drew me in so much like TP did. Also, I havnt had a game on where I stop playing for a week or so, but actually come back and finish it. I usually just forget it for months on end, and then get around to finishing it.
Adventure - I liked surprisingly, thought Chaos was awesome and generally loved the storyline, gameplay was a little iffy but meh.
Adventure 2 - A bit stale , similar to one.
Heros - I honestly dont know whats with all the hype , I found it mediocre at best. Annoyingly repetitive at worst.
Shadow - Bah , really only storyline expander. Had some ok music though...
Next Gen - Music and graphics. Nothing else.
