the kid's an inferior version, is there any reason for thinking he could win?

I suppose if they both sat in a room together and just stared at each other for several decades, then eventually Victor would die of old age. or he would become vulnerable enough for the kid (by then an adult) to beat him up. otherwise this really doesn't seem to have any purpose.
