WMD found

thats right. the neo-republican party was right it seems.
there were in fact weapons of mass destruction and they have now been found.
not just nerve gas, but chemical bombs and radioactive material as well.

oh...couple of things though:

1-they are at the bottom of the atlantic ocean
2-the US military intentionally dumped them there.

D'OH!!

It is no secret that the U.S. military has used the ocean as trashcan for munitions in the past. Peter discussed at the Old DSN how federal lawmakers were pressing the US Army to reveal everything it knows about a massive international program to dump chemical weapons off homeland and foreign shores. "The Army now admits that it secretly dumped 64 million pounds of nerve and mustard agents into the sea, along with 400,000 chemical-filled bombs, land mines and rockets and more than 500 tons of radioactive waste - either tossed overboard or packed into the holds of scuttled vessels.

Saddam was building Submarines to retrieve them everybody knows that.

Was Aquaman paid off as well?

Durrrrr how stupid is the government?! Obviously they didnt take any precautions when doing this, they just decided "hey lets dump teh WMD's into the ocean!" But let me just continue being stupid.

Unfortunately, The U.S. [military] isn't the only one using the ocean as a dump site. My friend who's in the navy, has seen all manners of "junk", from industrial paint cans to furniture dumped off ships once they're miles offshore.

This....this stuff....is just......just infuriating.

...makes me want to pull my hair out. We have an inate responsibility to future generations to leave this planet in the same or better (if possible) conditions than we inherited it.

Makes me want to wallbash

Then I guess you don't want to hear about China's factories or what rich corporations do in third world countries...

😂

No, I don't. I can only imagine though. 🙄

A) Yes, it was stupid of them to dump the crap in the water, but it is not just the U.S, in fact the U.S has probably dumped less than most nations. Considering what it was, and when those weapons were last used, and the program went from WWII to 1970, it really doesnt matter any more except that they now need to be found and recovered.

B) They actually did find WMDs in Iraq, they were only in smaller quantities, and non-nuclear, so no one really cared about them. Many were old stashes too.

Whether Saddam ever really had anything to use, he probably would have been smart enough not to use it, in order to make a national incident and make the U.S look bad.
But whatever.

they were depleted chemical weapons. we knew about them because we have the bill of sale.

Ive got a funny feeling this messing about with dangerous stuff like WMD´s is going to go pear shaped one day, and a lot of people will suffer.

Not to mention, the Bush cabinet and the military had gone on record to say "these are not the weapons we thought Saddam had, nor went to war over.", yet Conservi-cons went on and on about them and how it was "proof". They were defunct Reagan era canisters of cerin gas, unstable and likely to kill the user.

No one is going to call him on this. People are pussies. Not the politicians - they can't say anything without the backing of the people (politicians can be major asses but you get what I mean).
