Marvel universe : Paranoia?

Disassembled.............House of M................Civil War...........according to Marvel these event shave been building up to a new stage in the MU a state of paranoia. According to Bendis, thanks to the events at the end of New Avengers #31 there will be mistrust and lots of finger pointing at each other. This has supposedly been building up since th early days of NA with dodgy SHIELD and Hydra espionage themes and shadowy figures.

So what do you guys think this upcoming event will be all about? discuss here...........

Its something to do with the Skrulls not having a home planet anymore and believing that the Earth is theirs.

Apparently they have even infiltrated the Illuminati.

The only way you know that someone is a Skrull is to kill them, apparently even Logan can't tell the difference between a Skrull imposter and the real thing.

So everyone is going to be looking for someone who is saying or doing something a little "Skrully"

More bloody aliens eh? .... wonder if we'll ever see the Ruul again (the shapeshifting guys that some of the Kree evolved into at the end of Maximum Security)

http://www.killermovies.com/forums/454643_1-venom-slays-teh-avengers-return-of-symbiotes

So we'll have Skrulls & Symbiotes running around in the not too distant future ... anyone else? the Kree are always around somewhere, maybe the Illuminati pissed off too many extraterrestrials while warning them to f**k off and leave the Earth alone.

I'm just praying we get to see more Super Skrull action 🙂

Maybe the symbiotes are Skrulls 😖hifty:

I'm thinking that Xavier is a Skrull impostor in Illuminati judging from the last panel of Illuminati #2. I also reckon that it will turn out that part of the reason Iron-man was behaving like Hitler for Civil War was because of his concerns that something like this might happen. This way Marvel get to show Tony in a good light just in time for the movie ✅

Well Tony as a Skrull is a little too obvious.

But Bendis is writing it so who knows! 😆

So..WAIT.

All the editorial f*ck up's over the last 2-3 years are (to put things simply) being blamed on Skrulls ?

One word.

LAME !

Bendis already implied in an interview that there wouldn't be any "easy outs" like Tony or Cap being Skrulls. So I doubt that's it. Xavier seems likely. Or maybe Black Bolt...the whole "he can't speak" thing would actually work to his advantage because it would be harder to tell he's an imposter.

Maybe.

Still, I like it....it's some over-arching continuity that extends back at least a few years, rather than simply the next big event.

That would mean ... that Onslaught wasn't Xavier.

😂

A continuity flaw I'm sure Marvel would be willing to overlook, especially given the criminal crap-tastic-ness of anything involving Onslaught.

Due to poor management the Skrulls accidentally have replaced every single humanoid on the plant with an imposter.

I'm just going to assume everyone is a Skrull until proven otherwise, then use that as leverage in debates on the forums if I don't like a particular feat.

Wouldn't identifying skrulls be easy if you had a telepath?

Not if the Skrull's have their own telepaths. Or if they had stolen all the telepaths and replaced them.

Xavier seems the most likely to be a Skrull. After House of M (and during the event) he vanished for a long time.

And I just reread Illuminati #1 over again. The Skrulls mentioned that of all their prisoners (the Illuminati), the mutant gene was the easiest to comprehend. And at the end the emperor mentioned that "they got what they needed out of them". Then again, it could just be some random mutants are Skrulls and a few random heroes. I don't think anyone major.

Sentry.

Maybe they didn't replace any of the Illuminati but instead placed post-hypnotic commands within their subconscious.

shrug

Why would they do that?

To f**k with their heads, get them to fight each other in some sort of civil war which would, hopefully, see a few of them die and at least cause them to turn on one another leading to one of two optimal results:

1) they eventually destroy each other and the Skrull's can just walk in and take the planet

2) the mental commands cause them to begin the "initiative" which forms masses of teams which could be comprised of powered Skrulls in disguise giving them a massive strategic advantage in any future attack.
