Canada and natives

I saw this posted on another forum:

"The history of Canada is very distinct and different from the US. in canada we agreed to set up ango, french and native governments from Day #1. in the US they decided to just slaughter everybody who didn't accept the new leaders."

Discuss.

I don't know much about Canadian history.

I just the Great White North, eh.

So wouldn't that depend on who arrived on their boat?

I need some background cause I honestly don't know what happened to the natives in Canada.

Ok I did a little research. The French and The British arrived in Canada. The French sided with one tribe and The British sided with another. Unfortuantely two native Canadian tribes had already had conflict before The Europeans arrived but because they were given guns by The Europeans **** got alot worse.

I think the difference With Canada is that The Europeans actually signed up a treaty and actually started to work with the natives as opposed to what happened in America were they got trampled on.

Anyone can feel free to correct me.

Now I'm curious. Never thought about the fact they never really "teach" you what happened in Canada... I doubt that is a mistake.

Well im no expert but Canadian history seems to have more cooperation in it as opposed to just trying to steam roll and crush people.

On a side note, check this out:

Here is an excerpt from "the Requirement" (Spainards read to Native Americans after "discovering an island"😉:

"I implore you to recognize the Church as a lady and in the name of the Pope take the King as lord of this land and obey his mandates. If you do not do it, I tell you that with the help of God I will enter powerfully against you all. I will make war everywhere and every way that I can. I will subject you to the yoke and obedience to the Church and to his Majesty. I will take your women and children and make them slaves... The deaths and injuries that you will receive from here on will be your own fault and not that of his majesty nor of the gentlemen that accompany me."

That sucks 😆

After the meal, the Indians contracted small pox and died.
