In Uncanny X-Men #275, Charles learned the hard way that Skrull science had advanced far enough to mimic mutant powers. Did Charles take this startling to his colleagues in the Illuminati? Clearly, he did not want to spread the news that his feather-bound friends, the Shiar, were vulnerable to infiltration and coup. Keeping this secret has led to disastrous consequences.
Moreover, Charles later found out that the Skrulls had an entire city where Skrull agents took the forms of Earth heroes, where they trained themselves to copy the powers and personalities of their targets. Not only did Charles proceed to fan the flames of racial hatred between Skrull and human by showing his face on Skrullos as Galactus was eating the planet, he also failed to report the invasion preparations to Tony Stark, Black Bolt, Namor and Dr. Strange.
Charles was also aware, from the Twelve storyline, that a Skrull sect had a religious interest in earth.
It is in my opinion that after the Skrulls are vanquished, Xavier needs to go to trial for treasonous negligence and pay the ultimate penalty.

i liked the issue, it wasnt bad...
i read secret invasion #2 yesterday, now: the reason i have always been firmly in the 'i hate bendis and want to kill him with piano wire' camp is because of what he did with avengers disassembled, and his slagging of hawkeye fans (which i am one of, as well as the general classic avengers), and from there it went on to house of m, etc...
but i liked secret invasion 2... barton is the archer again, and he kicked ass, and his confrontation with mockingbird was hard. core. i firmly believed he'd put an arrow through her skull if she'd been a skrull, it was just completely and utterly badass. and the reveal at the end, not bad at all... i like how it turns out that not everyone on the ship was a skrull, which obviously means that not everyone that showed up in the savage land is human, though we knew that already i think... anyways, if bendis continues in this vein, i can see myself enjoying SI alot more than i did his previous work...
and if that is the real cap, then i'm both glad and unhappy... its not marvel without steve running around doing his thing, imo... but it also means that the cap i believed in during CW was a skrull...

Not really, not everyone said how long they were captured for, some could be longer than others, if it is the real steve, they could have substituted him after he got shot, leaving a scawny steve body to make it seem legit...just tossing ideas around 🙂

anybody pick up captain britain and mi13? the skrulls we knew about in britain [the skrull beatles] got killed off save john, and now a bunch of skrulls are laying siege [get it?] to an important part of britain's mystical heritage. the preview page for the next issue is probably among the top ten most badass things ever created, in my opinion.
