It doesn't have to have a good plot to be a good RP (And I have gone over this as well). As long as it has concluded, the RP was successful. There have been very, very few RPs that have concluded plot wise. Hence my expression of "95%", which should have been kind of obvious. I still don't understand how the quality of an RP reflects success of the RP that did not die and concluded as the host intended.

Most RP's here have died due to bad hosting or lack of continuous attracting interest. So it does require some edge to possess over the RPer's interest. I have completed two and a half RPs and concluded them as intended. So this is from personal experience.

Here are other RP's that fall under the example:

Judgement of Celestial
Hero High RPG
Teen Titans RP
Ultimate Hero

And I am very sure I am missing a few. Point is one of them did not have a real plot, but a setting and a motivation given to the RPer that actually caused the RP to live past thousands of pages (The most pages an RP has ever survived). And the it was very popular due to the popularity of the tv show.

But it really, really depends on the RP. (If it is an RP with a plot or just it's name, purpose, or concept to speak for itself)

A majority of the RPs here die because people either have the attention span of a goldfish with dementia, or are just plain incapable of contributing on a lasting level. [/B]
Or maybe it is due to bad hosting, a negative swerve to the anticipation of such a potent RP, or maybe Rpers themselves could have killed the interest, despite the amount of work put to bringing it back to life. Or myabe it's that fact that it has no structure and host at the same time, living up to the name of an "unhosted RP".

It is not the hosting of a RP that make it not last. If it was, several here on KMC would still be going. No, there is no way around it. It is the rest of the players that **** up.
err...No.

Not saying it can not be bad hosting. What I am saying is that it is just as high a risk it is something else as it is bad hosting.

Posting a game later

And i'm saying that it is not necessarily always bad hosting or this so called "Low Attention span" based on the instances I have brought up.

So we agree.

If you say so?

I don't agree with that statement about most RP's dying based on an inadequate roster of role players with a low attention span.

That was not all I said though.

Would anyone be interested in a sequel to the Judgment of Celestial RPG?

I barely remember the first one. 😬

Well I'm gonna see if Secrets of Babel will gain support first and with a new JoC I would put down a recap. Maybe a prequel or a retelling...I dunno. We'll see where Secrets of Babel goes.

I'd prefer a sequel/retelling - I liked my character with the giant war hammer. 😉

I would like it to be similar to the very first JOC.

I always thought about hosting a role play without Role Playing...Just putting my attention to hosting it.

I wonder how this would work, and how long my RP would last.

That is the general idea of table-top, so it should work.

LOL, right. 😛

Maybe I can coordinate a game structure through third person narration and leave it all to the players to use their characters in whatever acceptable way based on the events occurring or what not. (Just to add a bit more direction to the RP instead of doing so through just characters, where RPers will take awhile to compute the idea and do as the host wants.) That way, the post that matters most would be the narrator/host posts.

No host ever wants to play a narrating role. To be very honest, I would not mind. 😬 Hell, I think I would like it better depending on the RP. 🙂

No honourable mention for Raziel of the Soul Reaver series? Hmm... Then I suppose I am inclined to agree with Marie and say DareDevil.

Well I'm trying to decide what to base it on. Ideas involve the Angelic-Demonic War, the War of the Wraith-king, the plague and the Dragon Lord, or the actual JoC story.

Speaking of which once I get a scanner I can start putting in the pages to the JoC comic. The main characters are Elijah, Sebastian, Leyna, and Cyan.

I like the last two ideas - Especially the Dragon Lord one. 😄
