Then how did she punch Emma Frost from behind a wall in AXM?

And there doesn't seem to be a gradation to it, which is what makes it seem a bit plot device; although Whedon tried to introduce a sort of logic to it, with the Breakworld metal and the Kitty-proof box.

Passing through X-23 was odd in that X-23 doesn't actually have an adamantium skeleton.
There was also the N'Garai demon back in the day.

She doesn't have a 40 year history. She has a 27 year history. And I'm pretty sure they were refering to an earlier event. Since you not only don't want to help bring to light what it was but try and down play how long its been around I'll have to find it myself.. I'm pretty sure it took place sometime around wolverine and kitty pryde. 4 years into her 27 year carrer.

Bad math on my part. 😮

I should have written ~30 year history. During Wolverine and Kitty Pryde nothing happened when Wolverine passed through her phased form. In which case that would make it a retcon.

She has shown the ability to phase parts of herself; however using that she has dialogue to mean that she constantly has her tympanic membrane, ossicles, cochlea, lungs, diaphragm, larynx, tongue, mouth, intercostals, scalenes etc. unphased, even when she's swimming through solid matter is idiocy.

Indeed. Thank you, that proves the point one way or the other. Remind me did she have problems during the scene I seem to remember where Wolverine killed Northstar?

In any case, this fight should go to Kitty Pryde.

Wow. Would you guys please stop voting stalemate?

........or Thing.

Never!

I don't actually remember but will check later. I just wished that they would make it both a) more consistent; and b) more logical with a better correlation between density and difficulty.
