The show I was talking about was some special about a movie called "Death Tunnel" that was set on the actual Waverly Hills sanitarium and it had interviews with former workers and patients. They had ghost hunters come in to go through the place before they shot the movie. Half the time it was so dark you couldn't even see anything that they claimed happened.
