Mantis vs. Thanos

There's two or three possibilities if Thanos tries that. And someone better informed than me could answer which one it is.

1. Thanos burns Mantis's energy absorbtion out and overloads him. Might not happen, I think Mantis can control what he absorbs and he could just redirect it, I think.

2. Mantis absorbs all of Thanos's power. In which case, Thanos is ****ed.

3. If Mantis does have a limit, he could just start blasting the power back at Thanos, and expend as much energy as he absorbs, thereby keeping him under his overload limit.

But this third option would require Thanos to be an idiot. 😛

I have never seen Mantis over loaded. Someone Like Infinity Man is above the Top tier and Mantis hasn't had a problem absorbing his power. Mantis is second in power of the Evil New Gods to DS. It's fair to say this fight can go either way.

What about draining? Has anyone besides Darkseid ever drained Mantis?

Not that I can recall. But DS is the premier energy drainer in comics.

thanos beats mantis.

Orion overloaded Mantis, I believe. But, since Thanos' blasts aren't even close to being as powerful as Orion's are, it's a rather moot point.

Mantis should win....although, saying "This touch shatters solar systems" and then going on to touch a guy and it did nothing kinda makes me wonder WTF really happened.

Still though, people claiming that feat is so good, and really, it's only relevant if Fate is more durable than Thanos...
