I think maybe the head lost it's skin cause it was quite badly cut up and it could come through but the skin came off cause of the cuts?
oooh this was a good episode. A little hard to follow in places.. Like why did the terminator create a face of someone who already exsisted. Why didn't he just make a unique face of his own, and did the scientist that helped him make the skin get murdered. I forgot. And why did the second terminator come back in time. We never found out what was in the back of that truck... or did we. And how did it connect to the military? And why didn't they explode it instead of just dumping it in the ocean.

he created a face of someone who already existed probably for several reasons. one is that person's already in the system. all he'd have to do is kill the real guy and ta-da, he is now that guy. second, i don't think Terminators are that creative.
the scientist who helped make the skin and the one who performed the surgery are both dead. that's why that FBI guy came investigating the hospital.
the second terminator came back cause...it adds suspense, i suspect.
we did find out what was in the back of the truck. it's a special type of metal that the latest robots (in the future) are being made of. Cameron's made from it. i don't remember the name but i believe we are given one. and InnerRise is right, it was resistent to heat to a much higher temperature.
it's not related to the military. the terminator hired people who may have been in the military. i believe they brought it to a military bunker for safe keeping. as Cameron said when they were in one of the warehouses waiting for John. she said it's the same warehouse she would be made in, so.
as for not exploding it...yea, i'm gonna agree with InnerRise.

Thanks for explaining all that. I just remembered that I got a brief phone call during the episode. It must have been during the first factory bit. I don't usually miss so many details. LOL Thanks again for that.
