I have always wondered about this, but I've never received an explanation. If Star Wars takes place a long time ago, in a galaxy far away, why are there humans there? Are we just to assume that there was a planet there that evolved in the exact same way under the same conditions as Earth?
Shouldn't you be asking why they speak English as well? ๐

yup!its not that farfecthed because there are thousands of planets in the star wars universe that have the exact same climate and conditions as earth.
Still, just because the conditions are the same the likelyhood of humans evolving because of that are unlikely beyond reason.
It's best not to even think about these kind of things. There is no good answer ^^'

Highly unlikely, but given the sheer size of the universe, not impossible. Not impossible is good enough for me in a science-fiction story.
Here's something for Scream

And well pratically everyone else.

The humans that exist in the Star Wars universe are, in fact, our precursors, we were not originally from Earth, you see, in the SW galaxy, a true vacuum, a genuinely, completely empy vacuum, began to expand, and as it did, it rendered all to nothingness. The humanity of SW saw this ocurring, and unable to have its entire population escape its effect, they sent billions of their children sent through pods at FTL speeds galaxies upon galaxies away, while the infants were in cryo-stasis. They crash landed on many planets in the universe, Earth being one.
Indeed.
