That being said, I didn’t say the books weren’t canon full stop. I said they weren’t canon to the games. There is a key difference here, and I believe that Bungie apparently agrees with my assessment. I also threw out the books in the discussion because this was originally posted in a video game forum, anyway.

My mother is a normal cow, and I used to be. I have my powers because an extremely powerful entity from a far corner of the Universe sneezed and some of his germs landed on the soil of the farm I lived on. I happened to eat some of the grass of that area and gained Super Powers.
