Aww, f*ck. I wanna play it. I got addicted to it, but then it was gone, LIKE EVERYTHING IN MY LIFE!Terra? Sounds like a hot chick you forgot to call back and therefore missed your chance to get with, so you dwell on it for the rest of your life, but then when you turn 78 years old, it's not a big deal cuz she sounds like Christian Bale anyways.

I wish! Such an expensive hobby, though. I would love to get into it.

Yeah reading up on Warhammer 40k, it seems really cool. Liking the Eldar guys. I've been looking at prices though and it's real expensive. More expensive than Battletech when I was into that.
I feel your love of dice though, I have a large bag filled with different types of dice. I'm pretty sure that miniatures games are just as if not more geeky than D&D

I also don't really have many opportunities to play, so it's very hard for me to justify shelling out the money to build up an army. But damn, I'd love to get into 40K one of these days. One of my friend has Hello Kitty Space Marines (he replaced their heads with HK erasers and painted them white and pink), and another has drag queen Orks. It's awesome.
Minis are definitely at least as geeky as D&D. However, it's still awesome.
But I might be biased. I help run the tabletop gaming department at a huge anime convention. Which includes RPGs, board games, minis, and CCGs. I would have more dice if I didn't keep losing them, though ๐ I randomly found my lucky D20 stuck in a box with another game last month at ACen.
I still have my Battletech rulebooks, tech readouts, maps and stuff, but for some reason all the miniatures I had are MIA. I think one of my parents may have gotten rid of them at some point when I wasn't around.
Admittedly I had some issues with the game... I memorized every rule, every mech, every weapon and all stats associated therein. I could even mathematically build a mech from scratch with just paper and a pen because I had all the rules for engines, skeleton systems, weapon systems, etc memorized.
Parents are great at that sort of thing...I'm simply lucky in that I got my geekiness from my parents - they used to play D&D and stuff, and stopped when I was born (though my dad taught my siblings and I to play when we were kids). My mom said it was so I wouldn't eat the miniatures she spent so long painting ๐ But she definitely understands what a money sink these hobbies are.
And that is kind of awesome ๐

Wow... yeah that is pretty awesome. My parents are pretty much traditional hispanic culture. While hispanic culture is great relationship wise, they lack openness about things like that. I haven't had much support for my gaming habits when I was younger, and only now when I don't need it anymore, do they accept my gaming.
Anywayz, here's a few pics of the Games Workshop place that I took when I went there.
Edit: removed a pic that was messing up the thread with it's hugeness.
