Also, I think I may finally have managed to get into Metroid. I just spent an hour and a half playing Fusion, and thoroughly enjoying it so far. Only took me twenty years.

Eh, nevermind what I was missing. Came across the last two items earlier unexpectedly when I was fooling around.

After I fought and beat Phantoon, again, and before I got far enough to the cutscene where Samus discovers Adam's helmet, there was one missile tank in the room at the bottom of the elevator where you jump and roll into a nearby vent, and the other where you look up on the ceiling in the small room before the helmet cutscene, and wall jump up until you reach it.

I was just totally confused at first because of where they were located on the map. Have found the map to be pretty misleading at times.

Anyhow, hard mode. I played some of it having unlocked it. I hate how there's no missile tanks, energy tanks, etc. like there were before. They could've at least had one or two of the things that make your beam charge faster. It's basically just you, the stuff Adam authorizes you to use, and enemies with more health and much more devastating attacks. Even the simplest of mini-bosses can literally kill you in one or two hits. The farthest I got on hard mode was

up to where Adam finally authorizes you to use the Varia Suit and you fight that weird lava monster, the first real boss

. With no energy tanks though, I just got frustrated and rage quit after awhile. Might attempt it again some other time... Dunno. I read that you don't earn anything in beating hard mode other than bragging rights, so I'm not exactly all that motivated to finish it.

At least what you would have to say (in the form of a review) would be tons better than seeing more of the dumb sexist rants and crappy exaggerations about Samus being "out of character" that's been posted all across the internet.

This is very interesting indeed. More interesting is, when I discussed the same subject with a friend, I found that some people prefer a main character who is simply a caricature of mindless, all-consuming violence. He doesn't see the redemption plot in the first game, only the overarching theme of revenge for the series. I'm intrigued by the fact we could both play and enjoy God of War, yet get two entirely different things out of it.
