Him being called Monkey doesn't seem to bother me. What bothers me is the writer of the article treating it as racist ironically. The more the writer tries to defend it the more racist it becomes(at least to my eyes).

It was stated a bunch of times its loosely based On Journey to the west. Monkey was design to look like a monkey, He even has a head band and a staff similar to Sun Wukong. The head band placed on by Trip even has the trope of the novel where it causes pain. Lets not forget he was also imprision.

Isnt it problematic to link the word slave to black slaves and not any others? The guy didnt even reference Journey to the West in his rant. No idea how he could write it and not know what its based on.

I thought the slave band was a great way to bring in the hud, communication, dependence and to just get a band on his head like the original.
