Depends on the context.

I have gone on one of my sarcastic rants about how I am bawss and cannot be banned because I am too powerful, and am not banned, and in my view I should not be, since I am clearly joking.

But if one is arguing with a mod, and after a warning says "YOU CANT BAN ME RAWRRRRRR!!!!" then that is defiance, and a bannable offense.
