I like what's been goin' on round here lately. All I had to do was say a few games sucked and now everyone tries to irritate me a lot more.

By the way, been playing more of Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires. Loads of fun.

No, I was being serious about that. I actually have been playing the game.

Damn, Moo, you keep lowering my expectations, and then dropping even farther. Dynasty Warriors is famously maligned, and DW6 was hailed as one of the least-improved sequels of the year!

Kevin VanOrd of GameSpot said that "The combat is still dreadfully repetitive," "The visuals are still ugly," and "The sound effects and voice acting are still awful." VanOrd went on to say of the game "Environments are bland and lifeless; water looks awful; and character models, while clearly upgraded from Dynasty Warriors 5 Empires, still look primitive by today's standards." He scored the game a 5.5/10.

I don't recall ever saying it was high in technical quality. But it's damn fun. Not my fault that all these high quality games failed to hit the most important target.

The Empires games are always far better than the main vanilla titles anyway, they actually have some variety and require some thinking.

I hate the huge sword they gave him. Was more badass in 5 imo.

I thought they ruined a lot of people in 6. Dian Wei I can deal with, but now we've got three clones of Xu Zhu and at least two of them were cool in five, Wei Yan and Huang Gai. I think the last is Xiahou Dun, he was okay but I wasn't much for him.

They also completely ****ed over Pang Tong. Now he's like some crazy Killer Moth wannabe. And the Yellow Turban guy is a moveset clone.

Ma Chao only got the Big Sword in the PS2 version of DW6 and in Empires. In the normal ps3/360 DW6 he has a spear clone moveset. At least in Empires he had an original moveset with the big sword. He was okish in 5, they toned him down from 4. He was at his best and most bad ass in 4.

He looks better than ever in 7 imo.

I don't remember much of DW4. I just remember thinking DW5 was way better. 😬

I'm looking at 7 and am getting worried. Are the unparalleled badasses that are Zhang Fei and Guan Yu not going to be appearing?

They probably arn;t finished with their re-designing yet.

On a related note, DW4 and DW5 where my two favourite DW game series (Along with their respective spinoffs ala Xtreme Legends & their Empires incarnations.)

I also quite enjoyed the Warriors Orochi games.

Yes they are going to be in. Why wouldn't they?

Koei has never revealed the full roster in one go. They always update their site in increments.

There are going to be over 60 officers this time.

I've been wanting to play as Hua Xiong for a long time.

I don't remember him too much other than being on Dong Zhuo's side.

I think he was supposed to be like second only to Lu Bu. Every game I fight him in gives him the badass powerup that they give to the guys you aren't meant to beat until later.
