And like I said - it doesn't matter if you don't consider it sexist, or if in the area you live in you think it's not considered sexist. That doesn't change hundreds of years of behaviors that have become completely entrenched in society. And no, intent doesn't mean anything. Trust me, it really doesn't (link doesn't go anywhere harmful, just to a blog with words in the URL that the censor would have removed).
Don't try and explain sexism to a woman who has and does experience it regularly, please.
I'm aware. I also hold the door open for men as well and will on occasion pull a chair out for them if we're sitting at the same table. I hold the door open for people everyday at my school and I've yet to hear a real complaint, and often I hear thanks. If anyone objected to it, I'd gladly not do it. These quirks I do are gender neutral to me and I do them all the time. It's just politeness.
There is a bit of a difference between me saying a racist word (which I was never allowed to say) and me holding the door open for a girl because my parents told me to. The latter was not meant to be an insult in anyway and was just a clumsy kid doing what he thought was polite. I gladly allowed her to open her own door once my parents were out of sight.
I'm sorry you've had to put up with sexism. It is a sad thing that women and people of different races are treated horribly to this day. You'd figure the country would grow up a bit.
LOYS, Mrs. Middleton does happen to be what I consider a friend and I have always made sure that she knows I have the utmost respect for her and how much she puts up with daily. Women do put up with a lot of shit, especially if they are sort of playing the household role Mrs. Middleton is. Only thing that bugged me was her inability to pump gas. That's being babied.
And you were the one that said Obama looked like a monkey to her...so she far preferred me.

Peach, if I hold a door open for someone as common courtesy, and they happen to be female, am I being sexist? ๐ I wouldn't think so. Intent is certainly valid. The meanings of your actions don't change depending on who your action is directed at. [/QUOTEedit.

Mrs. Middleton is awesome, and is why I had her as a teacher for 3 years, and no, she was meaner to u than she was to me. She liked me a lot better. I just surprised her my senior year because I didn't care anymore after I got all my credits. I did what I wanted instead of being the good kid that never said anything, and always did his work.... and yes, that is being babied ๐
No your mistaken. I told her that Bush looked like a monkey, and she chewed me out, and called me a racist because she thought I was talking about Obama. I retaliated by putting this pic at the end my power point to prove I was right ๐
I think I messed up when I ripped on religion towards the end of the year. So she might of liked u a little better after that happened. A couple kids thought it was funny, but didn't laugh during the presentation because we were outnumbered by Christians... Cowards ๐
Carlie thanked me for it later on cuz she's an atheist, and didn't have the courage to do something like that in front of the class. The whole year the other kids were making fun of her, they just didn't know it. If only u were there that day. You would've backed me up, or wouldn't of stopped laughing because everyone else got offended by it ๐
"Gang raped at Homecoming" took the cake though. She wasn't too happy about that one, but that was your fault, not mine. ๐
edit: and stop avoiding the question... Who do u have a crush on?

We were talking about Obama when you made the comment. It was entirely your fault. And you did say Obama.
Michael, I am a Christian. What makes you think I'd side with you anyway? I love throwing my friends under the bus when I can. Carlie is a baby and far inferior to me obviously. Note: I made religion jokes too. Mrs. Middleton actually laughed at mine.
Again your fault. Pardon me for simply pushing you off the edge.
It's a girl you don't know. I spent the night at my cousins house for her birthday and her friend was dressed up as a vampire Sakura. So I flirted with her. That's all.

No, we were talking about Bush at first, and the topic was changed to Obama at the time I said it. and I said Bush, not Obama.
Simply because I put myself in that position on purpose and you wouldn't of been able to help it. You made jokes, I completely ripped on it for about 10, or 11 pages. I'm a Christian too, well, more Agnostic if anything, what's your point?
I still blame u... I was perfectly content with playing Oracle of Seasons on my laptop until u got me into trouble ๐
lol... then bribe your cousin into fixing u up with her. Problem solved... burn the Sasuke costume though. That just puts a really bad image in my head ๐

Maybe it's uncomfortable because it confronts you with certain feelings and urges you have?

Most "gentlemanly" behavior is pretty damn sexist as it is, as it stems from the assumption that women can't do anything on their own.
Agreed, on top of that a lot of it are just things that fall under human decency and should be done regardless of gender, which is tainted by associating it with "We only do it for females cause they are weak and also a bit dumb"
It's odd coming here and being greeted with seriousness, heh.

Slip her the tongue after holding the door, that's what I would do! (MST3000 reference) If it's a man, then ask first. Don't wanna have two lawsuits stockpile on ya.
