See, I disagree on this. You have tons of skills at your disposal in GW (thanks to the fact that you have two profession and the second can be changed whenever you want after a certain point in the story) - just you can only equip 8 at once, and you can only change them while in a town or outpost. This means that you have to plan out well not only what you use (some skills work together better than others), but how well it synergizes with your team (and if you're playing with heroes, how well their builds synergize with yours). It requires far more skill and intelligence to craft group builds that work well together with limits like that, than just having every skill you currently know at your disposal at any given point in time.
Theory-crafting is serious business in the GW community, and people can come up with some pretty crazy (and awesome) stuff once they've learned the ins and outs of each profession. Which is another thing - if you want to be able to create really good group builds that work together, you need to know every profession very well. I play all of them, so I'm pretty damn good at build-crafting. Not one of the super-amazing people that manages to come up with invinci-builds, but still, good stuff. The core of the build I run on my main I came up with immediately after a huge overhaul of that profession, and it's now one of the most common builds run on that profession.
