Woohoo, official off-topic thread!

Started by RE: Blaxican3,949 pages

It's obviously not the size of a campus considering that in the actual cutscenes of the game you can see huge mountain ranges trailing off into the distance.

Either that or the planet is very dense. Otherwise Ven and the others would just float away...

Where are these mountain ranges in the cutscene where it is being destroyed?

Also, no Aura. **** that explanation, lol.

Spoiler:
They were destroyed silly.
:3

All that was left of that planet was the castle. Mountains, earth, clouds, water, all gone.

I don't believe you. estahuh

I don't care. 313

Mark Millar: My wife got about six pages into it when she was reading it in the bath the other night and she just threw it at me. She said it was the most horrible thing she'd ever read in her life and she didn't want to think this sort of shit even went on in my head. I tried to explain that the crow was sucking cock for a REASON, but it actually does sound kind of creepy saying it out loud.

The comic in question is called The Unfunnies.

Oh me oh my.

I don't need you anymore, anyway. EA is going to marry me soon, and you won't even get to see the tape after I upload it to Spankwire.

It'll be set to private. You *****.

... I'm sorry, what? =o

Why is that planet visibly much smaller than a city...?

I'm being serious. ๐Ÿ˜

The Kratos example is gameplay mechanics, that "planet" being the size of a college campus is not.

It would be impossible to sustain life on a planet of that size, even ignoring the whole gravity thing.

The planet is that big because they aren't even shown in proportion in Kingdom Hearts. For instance the 'Land of Dragons' world is shown to be pretty much just a castle. But in the world itself we go into the forest, mountains and river. So you shouldn't take it too seriously.

I would say the same about how it's maybe a lession you ought to consider when you look at other games events/feats. But you aren't going to...

And thank you GK. That Nasty Aura.....

Were you guys aware of this? o.o

Yes and I really don't care because it looks stupid and I think the mother should've taken an arrow to the knee instead for it was just stupid. Forgive me for being harsh but it just looks so ridiculous and I don't know whether I'm saying this either because there's just one too many parodies of FUS RO DAH and I'm sick of it just as much as I am with the arrow to the knee jokes in almost every YouTube comment these days or that this video, to me, is poorly executed. But since it has the kick ass Skyrim theme going on in the background, I will give it some points for like a James Bond theme, Sons of Skyrim will make just about anything look good.

Semi-related, but when we started playing the Skyrim trailer at work over the summer, the first few times before I actually paid attention to the video (and hence was just listening to the music), I thought it was Guild Wars.

You expect Guild Wars' non-masculine orchestra to sound that manly?

And here we see your ignorance!

The music for Skyrim was done by Jeremy Soule, who did all of the music for Guild Wars and is doing the same for Guild Wars 2. He has a very distinctive sound that stands out, and I instantly recognized that it was his music.

Skyrim is also very similar to Eye of the North, the expansion for Guild Wars ๐Ÿ˜›

Well at least he's improving. I was listening to some of the songs in GW1 and it didn't sound all that impressive IMO.

See my edited post ๐Ÿ˜› The theme for Skyrim is extremely similar to the one I posted.

Skyrim's music is more fully orchestrated, while GW's uses fewer instruments and has no vocals at all. That's the only real difference.

I'm not feeling as much hype from this as Sons of Skyrim. "Similar" my foot.

I'm not talking about just the music (though they are very similar, whether you want to admit it or not), I'm talking about the game itself. The big difference in EOTN is that the dragons are not awake yet, and your actions prevent them from being awoken as soon as they originally would have.

Also, of course you wouldn't, you're a Skyrim fanboy. Whereas I don't feel the hype from the music from Skyrim at all because it's too similar to what I've already heard for...far too much time. It's good, but I'm used to it ๐Ÿ˜›

Jeremy Soule has been in the game for quite a long time now.

He's the John Williams of video game music. He's freaking amazing.

Chances are likely you've heard his music in a game, even if you haven't realized it.

Hell, listen to the theme from Eye of the North.

Then listen here, at 1:06:

The backing instrumentation is nigh-identical, and even the melody is extremely similar.
