good, good.

Okay.

so what was the first game to truly frighten, or creep you out, mine was the 1st Silent hill that game was pure madness.

I don't remember any games I played that freaked me out.

Haha, I'm SO going to get laughed at for this one.

But there was this old Roger Rabbit game for the NES that I played a lot when I was a kid, and there were areas in the main map where you would fall in a hole that would bring you into an underground cave. Which was pretty much entirely black, and there was a snake on the other side of the screen, and either you'd fall and die into a pit that would be in the middle that you couldn't see, or the snake would kill you.

For some reason, that gave me nightmares when I was like 5-6 years old.

Doom creeped me out when I played that when I was a kid, and as a result I'm always very jumpy when playing shooters.

And then when Resident Evil first game out, I was like 11 or 12 years old, and that one part where you walk through the hall and the killer dogs jump through the windows at you terrified me and I have not been able to play a RE game since.

There's nothing wrong with being afraid of a scary game at a young age.

Of course, I doubt that Roger Rabbit game was scary.

It wasn't. Just that stupid underground cave creeped me the **** out. I have no idea why.

I think part of it was because the character sprite would look all weirdly mutilated when you died.

Oh, okay.

Perfectly understandable.

Neo Darkhalen, aren't you afraid of Dr. Eggman from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise?

Afraid of ol' Ivo? Dr. Robotnik kicks ass, but he's not particularly scary...

You know, I decided to go and look up that old Roger Rabbit game on wiki, and in the process realised that a LOT of the old NES games I played as a kid were made by Rare.

...now I'm bored and just looking up all the games I played when I was little in general ๐Ÿ˜›

I'd look up all the games I played as a kid, but I can already name them now: Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt, Super Mario Bros. 2, Dr. Mario, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, TMNT II: The Arcade Game, Darkwing Duck, Top Gun, Yoshi's Cookie, Home Alone 2, and Jackal.

The entirety of my gaming career before N64. Favorites were SMB, SMB 2, Dr. Mario, and Jackal.

Yoshi's Cookie was a good game.

Yoshi's Cookie was a Dr. Mario wannabe. And since I had Dr. Mario, it wasn't played often.

Hee. Let's start the list of what I can remember off the top of my head.

And keep in mind that I still own most of these games and my old NES still works ๐Ÿ˜›

SMB 1-3, Duck Hunt, Legend of Zelda, Dragon Warrior (first game I actually remember playing), TMNT, Battletoads, Snake Rattle and Roll, Wizards and Warriors, Dr. Mario, Roger Rabbit, R.C. Pro-AM, Kid Icarus, Adventures of Lolo, Final Fantasy, Ice Climber, Mega Man, Metroid, Q*bert, Ninja Gaiden, Mickey Mousecapade...

There's more, too. Favorites were Dragon Warrior, Zelda, and Dr. Mario.

I was a geek even as a three year old ๐Ÿ˜Š

Oh crap, I had Battletoads too. That was a favorite.

'specially with the Game Genie. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Battletoads was hard.

My Game Genie never worked, stupid thing ermm

But that's why it was fun. I couldn't get too far on my own, but with a friend it was awesome.

Haha. Eventually it became easier just to use the Genie to get games to come on. Stupid faulty spring-latch-whatever mechanism...

Yay for having to blow into games to get them to work, and wiggle it around in the system so that it was JUST right...
