OMFG.

**** yeah Lauren Faust.

Finished the first Hungry Games book.

That was an intense read. I started from the first chapter this morning around eight and didn't put the book down for more than half an hour or so until I finished it around 3, and I only paused the times that I did because I was at work and am expected to do at least a modicum of actual work while there.

Anyway, I didn't dislike Katniss though she grated a little bit in the beginning. More than anything else I just pity her. Her life and the life of everyone else involved with the games just really, really sucks ass, and I know women who are damaged goods in the same way she is.

In fact, I didn't really dislike anyone. There were a few I didn't care about one way or the other, like the various girl tributes who get knocked off throughout the course of the games (though I felt a strong fondness for

Spoiler:
foxface,
and felt bad when she bit it even though I knew she was going too), but even then I didn't really feel any malicious hate for anyone, not even Cato.

I would say that it's a mark of good writing when you can make just about ever character at least somewhat likable.

Man....Everyone and their mother likes Foxface.haermm

Lets see...I disliked Gale cause he was boring and that one chick that went with them. Maybe some others. Haymitch was awesome.

No one cares what you like Blax, you have bad taste and Lorgar would beat up Kerrigan.

She's do damn sneaky, how could anyone not love her.

Her and the big guy, Thresh I think, were the two most "unique" characters out of all the kids strategy wise, I'd say.

Who's "that one whick who went with them"? Do you mean the pink haired chick?

I forgot Thresh's strategy.

So. Rue. You knew it was going to happen, but still.

Spoiler:
I'm so going to cry when I go see the movie and they kill her.

I've seen a lot of people complain about how Katniss and Peeta act in the second and third book, but personally I think the complaints are completely unfounded; the author does a really good job of portraying the way people who've been through some severe trauma would act.

I'll laugh. The killing of the innocent is amusing.

Nah but yeah I'll be bummed.

Peeta has never really done anything to bother me except when he is the Load at times. Which gets cancelled out cause he does have the nerve to kill people. Katniss didn't either until

Spoiler:
voting to let the last Hunger Games happen for revenge.
Even if it's kinda understandable, it's not likable at all and it's one of her last actions.
