Woohoo, official off-topic thread!

We see the sword move, and the question of whether the force of his swings come from a magical source or not mean exactly nothing, a notion you fail to grasp. I never claimed Sephiroth or Cloud could lift as much as Link.

Link isn't a lightning timer, lol. If you claim that, you must allow Cloud to be a lightning timer as well. He has the benefit of dodging something the script actually refers to as lightning.

Except it does mean quite a lot for your argument or you wouldn't have clung to the idea it was a physical feat as long as you did. You do realize the massive differences, yes?

it's not a 'force of his swings comes from magical source', it's just straight up magical. Sephiroth can cut through steel, this is inarguable and no one cares, it's not a big deal or particularly high end strength feat, but you're trying to amplify Cloud's actual striking strength by

1. assuming that Sephiroth's best cutting feat is somehow related to striking force (it's not)
2. attributing this to Cloud somehow?

Sephiroth pisses around with Cloud all CISy and then Cloud limit breaks him. Again. In the middle Cloud does indeed cut through a few girders but that's, again, nothing Spider-man couldn't do given a sufficiently strong sword.

Cloud avoids some lightning, Link plays tennis with it, while also being physically more powerful, more durable than a chunk of concrete, and without Sephiroth's CIS.

But of course Link didn't play tennis with lightning and there in lies the problem.

But because I do not feel like cluttering the thread with this tired argument, I'll just make a thread for it.

Opinion. Should I trade my fat PS3 in so I can get a new graphic card for my computer?

I dunno, on one hand that console generation is pretty much over. On the other, what about your PS3 games?

selling them off

Well if you're set on that, what's a PS3 without games? I assume the PS4 will be backwards compatible, and replay value is a big thing, so not sure.

I VOTE NEUTRALLY, but suggest you think a while on it.

The current discussion is about how Spiderman and Cloud would crush Link in a fight. FYPS3N.

I'm pretty sure Spiderman has taken down people tougher than Link.

Spider-Man beats up Heralds of Galactus, guy.

What no wisecracks that isnt spiderman

It's the black suit.

😂

It's because of that scene that one of the most enforced rules in the CBVS exists in the first place.

Cloud never avoids lightning, and neither does Link play tennis with it.

Still, at least, Cloud can block bullets with ease from a distance, whereas Link at best can block arrows.

I don't even like Cloud (anymore), but he wins.

Link has the better reaction feat, better strength and durability. How does Cloud win again?

Figure for how fast Dorf was throwing those electric orbs?

"Depending on air conditions, the typical lightning bolt moves at 224,000 mph -- or about 3,700 miles per second."

I already know how fast a lightning bolt moves.

There was no lightning bolt present for Dorf's toss, just an electric orb, which moves at who knows what speed.

Take it to the thread you bastards.

Anyway I started playing FF VIII since I've had it for quite a while. Surprised how much I disagree with Spoony on some things. The drawing magic and the card game aren't getting annoying at all really but he should have gone into detail over the boring combat and more importantly how completely unlikable Squall is as a main. The guy is a step down from Cloud(and don't even get me started on how he compares to Zidane) so I'm really hoping he gets better.

Squall is a shit stain the whole way through.

You don't play FF8 for Squall. You play for Zell m'fin Dincht.

Laguna's cool too.
