Now I know what Screampaste felt like when he had his hero moment in MWO. I had a hero moment last night, was cool.
Catapult and Cataphract against my Raven.
I was circling and half circling in my fight against the catapult when I saw that my teammate had been killed and the cataphract began working his way toward our fight. I ran behind cover and up cowards ridge to the little nest at the crest of the hill. from there I watched cataphract moving up from the left side of the hill and I waited. Once he got close enough I dashed out and checked his damage, 67%. I then continued torward the pult until I came in range and unleashed a laser and missile volley. I got in really close thinking he wouldn't be able to target me correctly but as soon as I did he shot Dual PPC's into my leg, disabling my mech. He shutdown from the heat and I fired directly into his center torso, killing him. As he died I see the cataphract round the corner of the closest building, so I fire at him while my mech limps to the left. I start to see him aiming at my legs and immediately turn to the right and he misses with his entire alpha strike of two large lasers and two medium lasers. I fire everything again into his center torso as we slowly draw closer, this time his shots glance my remaining good leg doing heavy damage. I get close enough to stare into the cockpit of his mech and fire again, this time destroying his engine, his mech goes limp and falls over.
Good times.
