The ONLY good thing to come out of WoW was the redesign of the draenei (or however you spell it).
They are going to be tying up all story elements in WoW and thus there is no reason to have a Warcraft 4.
Edit: used to play doubles or 4v4 on WC3:TFT with my brother. I used Night Elves and he used Undead, was good times.

Yeah, creepy whale-face draenei sucks. Sexy draenei are cool.
Other than, you know, making a ****ing great game.
I sometimes watch Warcraft 3 tournaments on youtube. Its a mark of quality that there are still world class gamers who consider the game good enough to compete in even today.

Joining a clan is always the superior option in any team-based game. My Planetside 2 experience skyrocketed after I joined an outfit and was no longer at the mercy of idiot pubbies.I'm scurred to join a MWO clan, though. The MWO community is pretty srs business in the upper echelons.
People just love to whine about crap on the forums I guess. The guys I dropped with were all super chill. We won 80% of the games and I was probably the only TRY HARD person there. Even then, no one got mad at all about the games we lost. There's even a specific Regiment for casual players in the clan. I think looking at the forums has been giving us all a skewed view of the competitive aspects of the game. Even I didn't want to join a clan but the need to stop PUGing was pretty important so I went for it.
Had one game where every single person on the team was Steiner, we dropped as 4 and the other four guys were all PUGing but we ended up with a clean sweep. Good stuff. Also, had some amazing comebacks and wins ripped from the jaws of defeat. So much coordination, calling targets, making plans, flanking, distractions, timed interventions, etc.
