It is very easy to screw up ones levelling with the SPECIAL system though.

Not so much in New Vegas as you could in 3, but your character can still be just as borked in Skyrim regardless.

And precisely. Skyrim can get by with its perk system, as the biggest focus of the game is exploring and questing, but a major part of every Fallout game is character growth, something that SPECIAL is specifically designed for.

I can't remember the plot of FF7 but as I'm playing... somehow Clouds flashback strikes me as suspicious. >:[

Edit: The material following it is...well hit or miss.

It's really well directed too. I'm impressed with its use of camera angles, transition shots etc. You don't often see those techniques in a game.

Sephiroth's actual theme is cooler than One Winged Angel. And the buildup for the character was perfect.

FFVII gets a bad rep because of the lackluster games that follow it in the same universe and the insane fandumb. But on a purely technical level it is fun as can be.

FF5 > All

Bartz is the pimpest of all the protagonists. His party eventually becomes him and a personal harem.
