It says right in the rules thread what is considered canon and non-canon here. Go read it.

For the purposes of this forum, only things from the video games are considered canon.

If there are multiple versions of a character (say, FF characters that appear in Kingdom Hearts, or other crossover games), then the main game that character is from is the canon source.

Only if specified is anything else allowed.
