Thank you...I was wondering if anyone would get that reference ๐Because yes, guns ARE uncivilised, especially compared to an elegant weapon like a lightsaber ๐
Lightsabers cut whole pieces of flesh off, sometimes you are cut in half, sometimes you lose a limb, and burn it so there is no bleeding.
Hell if we go further into SWverse blasters only leave small burn marks.
Which one sounds more barbaric to you? ermm
Obi-Wan clearly had no idea what the hell he was talking about.

Guns are designed to kill. Lightsabers kill as well, but generally when you do something like cut off someone's limb, you're just incapacitating them. A bit harder to do when shooting someone.
And anyone can shoot a gun. Without training, you'd be more likely to kill yourself with a lightsaber than someone else.
Originally posted by PeachLightsabers are designed to kill as well. How often in the movies did someone survive after a lightsaber was pulled out by a Jedi? There was like, one guy, that thug in the Cantina, that was it, and why cut off his arm? Why not just nick his legs so he can't attack them, but he can still walk after healing? Shoot someone in the leg and that's incapacitation. You don't always have to aim for the head or torso.

And? Without training, you would be more likely to kill or hurt yourself with nunchucks, or a mace, but at that end of the day, all you are doing when using one is bludgeoning someone in the head. Required skill to use doesn't equal "sophistication."
