well, if somehow you get your information, everything is free of charge. the same thing happened to me, and they also gave me 1 free month of xbox live for the trouble i had to go through. dont even read your manual, cus the warranty in it is all screwed up. microsoft gives you a warranty of 1 year only, and thats only on the red ring problem. so if you havent had your 360 longer than a year, the problem your facing is the red ring, and somehow you get your information, then yes, your 360 should be alright.

It's one year for all problems except for the RRoD, which is covered for three years.
And the 360 hasn't been out for three years quite yet, so it's most definitely still covered by warranty.

And I work in a game store. I have people coming in all the time asking about this. It's my job to know this sort of thing. It's one year for all hardware issues except for the RRoD, which is three years.
