You know, actually, I think it might depend. Castlevania's Dracula and Alucard have enough of their own history in the series that I would consider them unique characters in their own right.

Yeah, that's what made me ask. These versions are different from their original versions.

Yeah but Castlevania still uses the books/movie in it's cannon timeline to still make it part of the Dracula (Bram stalker) universe, that's only for Dracula though, i don't see why Alucard is not allowed.

But if you take LOI into account then GK is correct, since it gives Dracula his own persona as it were.

Alucard is a maybe, but Dracula I've firmly ruled in the past is no.

Well what about the God of War Gods? Why are they not allowed?

meh, apparently it started due to an off topic kain vs. GOW2 zeus argument, but it wasnt allowed to be made into a seperate thread ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

The GOW gods are close enough to their mythological counterparts to not be considered separate and thus aren't allowed.

No they aren't.

In origins maybe, in powerset no.

In powerset, the actual mythological entities are far greater, Atlas supporting the universe for example, when in the games he only supported what appeared to be the crust of the planet.

The character origins are far, far more relevant than powers/strength when it comes to determining that sort of thing.

Yeah well, there's a butterfly in your signature.

I mean, c'mon.

...No it isn't. ๐Ÿ˜

Who cares whether or not Zeus was birthed from Cronos and Rhea, or whether he originated from a pile of dogshit, it will be his powerset that should determine whether or not he could defeat another character.

I'm not talking about who he could defeat (I couldn't care less about that). I'm talking about whether or not a specific character is allowed here or not. Which is determined solely by their origins.

This is a game vs. forum. Where the entire basis for the debates here are focused on determining whether or not so and so can beat so and so. Why should origins play a factor? If the characters have the same name and a similar background(though honestly, Myth Zeus and GoW Zeus are only similar at face value), yet have vastly different powersets, and as such in a vs. thread it would be totally different, why not allow them?

We've been over this so many times that I'm incredibly sick of the argument.

It's a game vs. forum. Only characters that originate in a game are allowed. Characters that originate elsewhere but are in a game are not allowed, unless it is determined to be sufficiently different from the original character to be considered a separate character. This includes mythological beings.

I don't allow them because it's easier than making one exception and having everyone whine and moan about other characters that aren't allowed.

meh, im sick of that arguement too.

so, what are you guys doing for thanksgiving?

Eating.
