Well I personally think Batman is a selfish, overrated pussy and I still very much enjoyed the movie.

I'm not a fan of the entire superhero thing, and I think DC heroes are about as interesting as drying paint, so yeah ๐Ÿ˜› Even the bad guys are boring, which is some feat.

Hell, I could have been in that movie, though ๐Ÿ˜›

i tried to watch batman begins but it got soooo boring... so fast... so im very cautious giving tdk a shot.

...But you like Sailor Moon, and they are just superheroes.

Well it depends on the character. Batman is interesting. Interestingly selfish and noticably non-heroic when you really pay attention to his character.

...The bad guys? B-but Joker is a DC bad guy. ๐Ÿ˜

Just because I say I'm not a fan of something doesn't mean there aren't exceptions ๐Ÿ˜›

Meh. Never found him very interesting. Nor the Joker; simply very overrated.

estahuh

...Wut.

Out of curiosity why is Joker overrated?

I just don't see why people act like he's the second coming of Christ, or whatever. I honestly do not find him to be an interesting character at all but people act like he's the best character ever created in anything ever.

Y-you think DC heroes are dull...that's only a fair statement to make if you think Marvel ones are incredible, utter shit ๐Ÿ˜

Yeah, I really don't get why many people would be so obsessed with the Joker and/or Heath Ledger. It's okay to admire Ledger for doing a good job, but to treat him like a god just because of one performance is too much.

It won't be long until people start making up a bunch of "Ledgerisms", which would be ridiculous yet amusing feats that Heath Ledger could do. The same thing happened to Mr. T and Chuck Norris.

The only comics I've ever really gotten into is X-Men, and even that I fell out of interest a long time ago.

I just can never get into comics. The artwork tends to hugely put me off 9 times out of 10, and the characters and story have never been enough for me to push past that fact (and in such a medium, the art style is a HUGE deal).

The artwork thing I guess makes sense, as for characters and story, you might be looking at the wrong comics. If I read most mainstream Marvel or DC now I could tear my eyes ... but there's some great, very, very artistic and valuable stuff out there.

Yeah, I finally picked up Watchmen(well, got it for Christmas), it is glorious.

Isn't it? Alan Moore is really great. I watched "The Mindscape of Alan Moore" a few days ago, was very interesting to hear some of his opinions.

Yeah, only finished chapter two so far, but I can already feel the depth of the story, and as said by someone in the comic forum, it is indeed a plot which is also ripe with sub-plots and provides detailed backstories for the original Minutemen using writings from the original background.

I think my favorite character, despite dying at the beginning, is Eddie "Comedian" Blake.

My favorite character, though he dies later on, is Kisame.

Blake is a very good character. He's also prominently featured, so it's not that unreasonable. Personally, mine is Rorschach...yeah, I go with the flow on that.

Well actually Rorschach is up there as well, second only to Blake.

What makes me like Blake is basically his theme.

At first I was like, why is this guy called the Comedian? He's not funny, he's a psycho who shoots women he has impregnated and tries to rape other members of his superhero team.

But, as Rorschach explained, it is those things that make him the Comedian.

He has modeled himself to be a living, breathing parody of the cruelest, most horrific parts of the world, he is the Comedian because he mimics it and becomes basically, living satire.

Granted, I am still nowhere near done reading, but that is what I have gotten out of it so far.

any of you guys beat crisis core? angeal just actually hit me... how sad.

Well, I've only had SCIV since Christmas, so there's probably plenty such as yourself that are more of an expert on the subject than me. ๐Ÿ˜› I really liked Algol's bio though. Thanks for posting it. ๐Ÿ™‚

Meh. Fair enough.
Yeah, I can't really deny that last part. Then again, it's like that with pretty much any big movie/thing/fad of the year. srug

But not all the fans are rabid as Altar says (way to generalize), and then he has the gall to say we (or everyone in the thread he posted in) are no better than fatty Twilight fans. ๐Ÿ˜ I was thinking about replying to him at first, but then after seeing his obnoxious response to Doc Ock's reply, I think I'll just ignore him. ermm

Meh. I don't think Ledger's performance wouldn't of gotten nearly as much attention as it did if he hadn't died. It still topped Jack Nicholson's Joker though, IMO.

Batman is one of my favorite superheroes in general, though I admit he's weak/overrated in comparison to many others out there, but his power/strength isn't why many like him to begin with.

TDK is much more action-packed than Batman Begins, so I don't think you'll be disappointed in that department. I personally enjoyed Batman Begins, but I can see why some would think it was boring.

I've beaten it 3 times...
