I agree that it's annoying though. 'tis why I just sign in as Appear Offline most of the time, and sometimes stay that way depending on whose on.

If you don't want to talk to them...and only want to talk to them when you want to talk to them about something, put them on block. They are still there...and they don't know the wiser unless you send them a screen shot.
Yeah, and if they have something they need to ask me or whatever, they can't.
Sorry, but your idea is stupid.

You complain about people bothering you and then you stress that "if they have something they need to ask me or whatever..."
WTF?
You're such a woman. ๐
I should have known better than to think of an actual solution. ๐hifty:

Obviously, the complaint is related to people bothering her with stupid banalities, not when they need an answer to a question.
After all, when she wants stupid banality she comes in here.

I'm glad you have an intimate knowledge of her IM life, I don't.
This is all I have:
"Also, I really wish that people would actually read my damn message on MSN. If it says leave me alone, it means do that. Not decide to randomly IM me and get annoyed if I don't respond."
I don't see anywhere in there anything about selective buddies being acceptable to message her when she is set to "busy".
Now, forgive me for trying to suggest you remove annoying IM buddies.
Edit - What TGE said. That's why I said she was such a woman.
I wasn't set to busy. I was set to online because I was waiting for a select few people to come online. My personal message, which is part of my MSN screenname and is impossible to miss, said to please leave me alone.
Why should I have to go on offline or block 90% of my list? Why can't people just, you know, actually read? I mean, it's really expecting a bit much from some people, to judge by the reading comprehension displayed here, but still.

Yes, you should really really fer realz block all the people you don't want to talk to. They should e-mail you if it's important, right?
I'm a dude...and a hermit. I could care less except for a very very small select few people.

True. Not sure why I'm expecting common courtesy from people.

They'd have a hard time emailing me, since I give my email address to absolutely no one.
And it should really be "couldn't care less".
