Would you teach your kids about sexs or have it taught in school?

As a child I was never allowed to be in that sort of class. My parents had exclaim that they reather teach me then have a teacher teach me.For whatever reason.
What do you think?Would you reather tell your kids(the talk)or have a teacher tell them?jm

I don't know why more parent just don't teach their kids about sex. Just talk about it matter a factly.

I'd rather tell my children myself, but I think sex education in schools can provide more insight...so, both I guess.

Kids find out about sex soon enough. The gloopy ones get pregnant, "sexual education" will not prevent that.

I sure hope it decreases the likelyhood

well it depends on what is taught. personally if my kids teacher tought her about sex they need to talk more about how to protect themselves. when i was in school; my teacher just took a pencil and a doughnut and put the pencil through the hole and said that is sex and that was it.

"sex" is a rather broad topic.

Things like anatomy, function, and the more biological side of it are probably better left to schools. It should be part of a "health" education.

The "moral" or "affective" side should be covered at home. Making children comfortable with their body and their feelings.

The other parts of sex (preference, kinks, ect) should not be covered by either and should be learned from personal experience and experimentation.

Kinsey FTW

My god you people are as thick as stone, the school which I used to go did "Puberty and growing up" and explained everything in a mature and scientific way. There's no need for this arsemug "indecent" and "wrong".

I remembered when I learned about love in the back of a Chevrolet.

I-isn't it?

I definitely will be having sex talks with my kids. Multiple ones even. Especially with the boys. Boys hit different levels of maturity at different times from girls and so they need to be prepared for every one of those. From when they first start noticing girls to when girls first start noticing them. Plus I plan on teaching my boys the "tricks of the trade" that I've learned or came up with over the years.

However that doesn't mean that I would be opposed to Sex Ed. I don't see how anyone can be opposed to Sex Ed. In my experience, back in like 4th grade or something, the Sex Ed classes I had were scientifically geared. "You're body will experience changes", "You'll notice hair growing everywhere", "You'll wake up in a puddle but its not pee", etc. The girls and guys were even seperated so I don't see why this is such a big deal to some people.

I'd forbid them from seeing it at school and then not teach them at home.

They will find out when they make somebody pregnant or get pregnant themselves. Experience is always the best teacher after all.

I am sure that this is factually and absolutely true....but it would still decrease it a tiny bit.

Both.

Hey, both my parents and school......Tv, Internet, Magazines, books, friends, and my uncle Richard taught me about sex......

Kids will learn it sooner or later even if parents and teachers say nothing of it.
