woo, hold on, let me pick myself up off the floor

you are immune to optical illusions, well now sir, PLEASE let me do some brain studies on you, because you must have the GREATEST visual system on the planet. A single fMRI scan should be enough for me to be forever famous as a perception psychologist!

why don't you explain this brain training process 😉

lol, jesus wtf

I'm so glad someone posted that. It saved me the trouble and I am feeling particularly lazy tonight.

Read my last my last post.

I did, and found it equally entertaining. I thank you.

i study this

if it didn't work, especially given that you just admitted that you know the test, it means you did it wrong

I agree that the intentions of the test did not work they way they were supposed to because I expected something strange to happen in the test.

No I have never seen this test before and I only watched the video once...no, I didn't really train my mind to become "immune" to little mind tricks...I was just saying that people can train for it. Why are you trying to put such weighty substance in this feeble test? Does it really mean that much to you?

its not worth arguing about, its just hilarious that you think its impressive that you were able to not get the effect of an illusion... Wow buddy

I don't think that that was very impressive at all...more like the test wasn't impressive and I wanted to make a point of that. I still find these types of things fun and I love doing them...when I actually get tricked...I LOVE IT!!! It goes to show that I can't anticipate everything.

but seriously, if you have such good attentive processes, come to my lab, I'll be more than happy to test it for you to see how much better it is than regular humans, and then, since you have such good attention, ill get famous for having such a unique subject 🙂

You saw what I observed from that video... I really don't have that good of "attention" as you put it...I have ADHD. (Yes...three different ADHD specialist have tested me, twice when I was a child and once more recently.)

You have a lab? AND you want to test me in it? That sounds sexy...extra large probes please...I like to "feel" the data measurements.

the shame, it wells up inside of me

lol, be honest man, this is the equivelent of saying that you don't see the necker cube because you have been able to train you mind. [/B]

Funny you should mention that...yes, I see both versions everytime and my brain has not shown a preference over another. Does that mean my brain is not right? Seriously, I would like to know.

But really, if you really are a student of psychology, should you really be "verbally" abusing people on the internet? How can that even work?

the only reason I said anything was because you said that you were able to train you mind so that you no longer fell for these "tricks". I think that is absolutely bogus, though, as you pointed out, by having expectations you can easily change your experience.

thinking of it as a "trick" is a good way to lose the effect. People like to think that they are above being tricked

I am unaware what ADHD would do to the results, though it might explain why you did not fixate on the ball...

wrong kind of psychology. I care little for making people feel good

Well if I did post that, I lied to make myself not seem as "good" because I don't like coming off as arrogant...(I know what you are going to say to that.) I don't feel like going back through the posts to find out if I did or not. But I really didn't have to train myself...it is the way I am.

I fully agree there. I love being tricked though because I don't get tricked very often.

Awesome point...it actually makes sense to why I have never really fallen for these types of tests. (Though I still hold that someone can train themselves.)

nope, thats normal

You didn't make it seem like I was, so I thought that would help you psycho-analyze me...oh well.

So what are you studying in your lab? pronz?

To be fair, if you watched thinking 'I'm not going to fall for this', while wilfully ignoring the instructions, it's not really a valid example of the test.

Though, I did quite blatantly [not spoiling], and find it hard now to imagine people miss that.

Well, I didn't not follow the instructions...I counted white passes, black passes (and added those two up), tape in the backround, and any other "things" that might have come up....I went into the test with the idea that there was a trick and the "trick" was what I was really going to be tested on.

I believe that is what you two are getting at...I screwed up the results by approaching the test with a "trick" in mind.

Stil, I have only seen it once. I know that I didn't count all of the passes correctly.
