BBC are saying 7 deaths at current.
That links been updated to saying 9.More projected to come apparently.
Wow that footage of the collapse is crazy.
Hasn't the death count gone up to about 14? Well, that's the last time I checked before I left the house. It was on Fox News. I haven't checked yet if more people have died since then.
Just watched the news, looks like a bridge collapsed on the Mississippi in the USA somewhere, that must have been an amazingly harrowing experience driving on a bridge then falling 10 + meters into a river.
What I find odd is that theres a newer bridge next to the one that collapsed, whats this bridge for and why did they build two bridges alongside each other? Probably a train bridge eh?
I thought this sort of thing only happened in developing countries.
Nevertheless a sad loss of life.

When I heard that the bridge was currently in the process of being renovated, my first thought was that union labor forces prolonged this effort by several years.
Union labors are gonna be in one serious fight with the city.

I heard it was last inspected in 2006 and was given a nod. Someone's head will roll
Contractors no doubt will be first....
