As much as I hate Quanchi (and I do) Thanos was shown to have added that tech into his equipment since he managed to use it on Odin.

Yeah after the fact. Thanos still couldn't put thor down under his own power. If he did he would have ended up like everyone else.

Not at all. You can give Thanos all the tech you want. He would still lose to Dr. Strange. There's no double standard about it. If you put Strange in a race with Thanos to get the IG, Strange would win that too, no contest.
