Stoicism and Buddhism - similarities and differences

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category😖toicism

stoicism has always seemed very much like buddhism to me as a philosophy. other than the belief in karma and samsara. their teachings seem to mirror each other. buddhists and stoics are welcome to express their oppinion, accorrds and discords. {i dont think ive seen this done before}

i also find the stoic system of categorising passions rather unique and interesting.

Well, throw in "social duty" and you have the 3 temptations of the Buddha (along with Desire and Fear) which he overcame to help acheive Enlightenment. So yeah, kinda some similarities...but Stoicism really only scratches the surface of a few things, and isn't really as developed a philosophy as Buddhism.
