DS Jaden Korr vs. JA Luke Skywalker
Fighters: Jaden Korr and Luke Skywalker
Scenario: It's basically the same as the regular Dark Side JA ending, but with Luke in Kyle's place.
Setting: Ragnos' tomb, in the main chamber where his spirit lay.
Match 1: Sabers only
Match 2: Force only
Match 3: Blaster fight(no offensive force powers, both have the standard imperial blasters)
Match 4: All out match.

Don't get me wrong, the choosen one to bring balance to the force isn't someone you mess with but what did he really do? He didn't kill Palpatine, didn't kill his dad, started a jedi order with no one to appose him only for "rising sith" to be taken care of by his apprentices. The only reason I say Jaden is because his ability in both the force and saber areas are simply prodigal. He excelled at a young age only to learn what masters complete in his adolescent years. My bets go with Jaden on this one.
Does Jacen have Ragnos's scepter?
Don't get me wrong, the choosen one to bring balance to the force isn't someone you mess with but what did he really do?
Actually, Luke wasn't the Chosen One. Anakin was. Luke was merely the catalyst for Anakin's destiny. Also, as of Jedi Academy, Luke was immensely powerful in the Force [see Dark Empire] and was able to contend with the reborn Darth Sidious in lightsaber combat.
There isn't anything particularly special about Jaden that can compare.

That said, Jaden's had a rich but extremely limited span of time in which to train, and while he's definitely good, by this point Luke could probably challenge the best of the Old Jedi Order.

But yeah...Luke owns him
Luke is teacher, Jaden, the brand new jedi knight.... light side ending is canon for crying out loud, Luke never fought Jaden, and there is no indication that Jaden had anywhere near the level of power of either Kyle or Luke. Heck, check their statistics through cheat codes if you have no other source. Luke has 200 force points, while Jaden only has one hundred. Jaden doesn't even defeat Kyle in an all out fight in his final duel in the dark side ending, Kyle is constantly trying to disarm Jaden, and like grab him or whatever that move is.
Basically the only way to defeat kyle, on difficult is to constantly use force drain or force heal. In fact, that's pretty much the only way to defeat almost any larger group of enemies on difficult level (or master or whatever). Since its pretty much common knowledge, that in a light saber fight, someone cannot take a light saber cut across the face, or the shoulder, or the leg, and then jump away, and run down a hallway, and heal yourself in 10 seconds, or eat magical healing potions (the health packs, they don't work instantaneously.) Also: NO ONE uses shields in a light saber battle.
If you try to take a video game like JA, and turn the characters into true duelers, great, but it doesn't make it real. I mean, if you want to: a stormtrooper with a lightsaber can kille 3 lukes and 7 kyles, as long as he keeps using drain or heal, and you are a really good player. My point is, you have to use all the other sources you have as well, and if they are considered, luke wins, easily.

i tell you what, he wasn't my favorite part of the game. My favorite part of the game was it was, at the time, the game that gave you most insight into being a jedi. Cut this guy down, push that guy away, deflect those blaster bolts. It was pretty awesome at the time. I played it for hours and hours and hours with cheat codes, and downloaded maps and players, and watched giant battles between all the sith, and all the jedi. i was a complete nerd for that game.
like JK better though. just more realistic.

Yeah, that is why I liked him so much. You could always count on him to do or say something foolish. JK:A, I'm not gonna deny, is an awesome game. Better settings and locations, improved gameplay, got Force powers early on, and hell, we even get to see Boba.
But nothing beats JK2. That sh*t was the mad notes. Desaan was the Rosh in that game. Boy, if those guys ever had the chance to meet, imagine the poetry they'd spit.

Whether Katarn is on this Luke's level or not however, is up to you.
That's not entirely accurate. As I recall, Katarn dominated and defeated Jaden (and it must be noted that, given Katarn's level of devotion to return Jaden to the lightside, it's highly unlikely that he was attacking to kill), but was knocked unconscious due to Jaden summoning the scepter against him.
I didn't get the impression that Katarn is powerful enough to fight while holding back against a Jedi of Jaden's talent (who may even have been more talented than Katarn).
I think his original intention was to talk some sense into Jaden, but once the fight started I think he would sensibly fight at his highest level and then be concerned about disarming or disabling Jaden afterwards. I think Jaden just outsmarted him in that fight.
I do think Katarn was more skillful although I believe that this is due to his experience, I believe Jaden's talent and/or instincts compensated for his lack of experience and maybe skill.
As for the topic of the thread, Jaden was wise to run away after he'd defeated Kyle, Luke would have beaten him (although I doubt it would have been easy).
