Wait nvm. He died in amazing X-Men. Amped X-Men were fighting him and Guardian blasted out of his body.
I know the arc and scene you’re talking about and if that was enough to kill him then we certainly have the answer to the thread. I actually like comets explanation better. 👆

Yes, Tanaraq is confirmed dead in Immortal Hulk #4.
We don’t know if that’s true. As why would he not want to transform anymore? Could be just lying to calm the reporter. At the end of immortal hulk 4 looks like Tanaraq took control (or maybe this is something new). He refered to himself as a devil and preview art for IH #5 he kills and eats the doctors

I'll be honest. I think they are trying to bury the Tanarq aspect of Sasquatch and go back to his original gamma history.
Naaaa they directly refered to the great beasts. If they were ignoring it they wouldn’t have said anything

It makes sense, but I liked Tanaraq, so it's kind of irritating to see it swept under the rug so unceremoniously.
He really hasn’t. He was a beast in omega flight and in amazing x-men
We learned the great beasts are one of the most powerful pantheon in chaos war
Don’t forget you can’t truly kill a Great Beast (based on past continuity and statements). If he’s dead, meh. He was supposed to be dead in Alpha Flight volume 1 but he didn’t actually. Concerning the amazing X-Men scene the only way guardians attack worked was the x-men with the combined powers of the other Great Beasts injuried him which allowed him to do that. So not really a low showing
Another point...“only good thing that came out of this mess is no more wendigo. I guess the curse died with tanaraq”. Which clearly isn’t the case as wendigo has been back many times. Recently Walter has been trying to track down banner in immortal hulk to get help as has been losing control of himself when he transforms which may or may not be tanaraq. That was the reason for Walter dying as he was refusing to transform. With the death of his human side the “devil” came out
Originally posted by -K-M-Yea they did reference them but it seemed like a quick nod to old continuity, basically sayng that Walter was just possessed by Tanaraq. The writer even said that this isn't old continuity, it's something new.

I'm kinda stoked to see how they do this.
It probably relates to the “green door” which they expanded and added to Walter’s origin

From the preview art of #5 it should be interesting

First time I saw Tanaraq was in Exiles, and he was so badass. I really hope he makes a big come back some day. Never read Omega Flight; was that good?
He did in amazing x-men. It was revealed he is the creator of the wendigo curse and wrecks alpha flight and the X-Men with ease. Actually very similar to the exiles appearance
It was meh! Reason was it was supposed to be an ongoing and then marvel suddenly made it into a mini so Oeming had to rush through it
Watching BRB beating up one of the great beasts was awesome. 👆
As for this thread? Surtur obviously annihilates, lesbehonest.
Tanaraq's big move for decades was controlling Surtur's army after Surtur had died. Surtur is like prime Pamela Anderson of Interdimensional demons to Tanaraq's post-heroin Lindsay Lohan.
