Between 7:15 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the University of Waterloo weather station recorded 23 millimetres of rain -- a record since it started keeping score about 10 years ago.
In the hour starting at 7:15 p.m. about 34 millimetres fell. The temperature dropped six degrees in 30 minutes
Just 11 days earlier, on July 11, about 80 millimetres of rain fell within three hours. There was some flooding, and some sanitary sewers backed up.
