Well..heres what happened..... a friend of mine for over 20 years passed away......i was going to the wake.....on the way home the day before..i got called by my bosses partner(who now runs the company i work for)..he started the conversation like this.."This is how its going to be...you are going to come in tomorrow from 10am to 8pm"...because one of the office staff got sick...i said i had a wake to go to that i was not going to miss....he then went nuts and told me basicly...if i tell you to change tires...you will....if i tell you to cook for me you will!!!...basicly i am his slave.(mind you i am the operations manager..and dont change tires etc...)..well what i said to him cant be repeated here...i was told then if i cant do whatever the boss wants...i cant work there anymore...long story short...the big boss told me to come back to work...i said no...he then convinced me we would have a meeting and come to understand...i have specific work duties and certain work hours...so i stayed..BTW...i am still waiting for this meeting...but it seems the big boss told his partner to leave me alone and let me do my job

How was his attitude justified, does he think he's a slave driver or something?

He panicked....he has been out of this buisness for 20 years....and he has no back up plans for problems...oh well.

Well you handled it the same way i would to be honest, so i can relate
to that.

I guess it shows you're an asset to the company, so you can take
solace in that.

However, that guy need's to learn how to be a manager right?

Funny story....when he first got here...he found out i was the operations manager...he made it a point to come into our office(me and the manager and a dispatcher) to let us know HE was the operations manager......so i waited for the first crisis..involving an accident....and i let him have it.....low and behold after i had to go into his office and explain to him where everything is..i.e...report forms...files etc...i said to him..thats why i am the operations manager...not you...you are the boss.....he agreed 😉
