Hey, did anyone read the last issue of action comics. It was a god-damn awful storyline...
Yep, I'm really looking foward to the New Guardians, this could be the team book I've been waiting for.
Reasoning: When your book is filled with the cash-cows of the print, no real movement happens in team books, they either change their status quo in events or their solo books. That's why some Avengers work while others don't. Kyle being exclusively in this book filled with "fodder characters" allows room for movement. It worked for the GotG and I think it can work here.
And I'm willing to give Action Comics a chance, if only to give Morrison the benefit of doubt.
It should be fun either way.

Where did this team succeed where others failed?
Take time to make characterization that actually matters, being unpredictable at killing/disposing characters and trying to bump some relatively unknown characters into the major leagues. All those elements are a good step to make good books (R.E.B.E.L.S. for example, shared those things)
Lesser know characters allow more freedom, and I think the Guardians didn't fail on that level. With some luck, the so called New Guardians -funny name coincidence- will be able to work in those parameters.
Also, its not Johns, so Kyle may actually do something.

Hey brucester !
@ Bentley : I'm also a big fan of B list or not so well known characters. I think involving different characters in books makes it a more fun/ interesting read.
@ Bada : You guys getting much rain over there ?
