Some of you may know this already. But the last 3 years have been a time when every stupid thing I did in my teens and 20s caught up to me. Upper back, neck and lower back pain kept me from working out for more than a few months at a time. The past 18 months got even worse with both knees getting wrecked along with neck and back pains. I haven't been able to work out more than a few weeks the past 18 months until the last 6 weeks.
I've been able to do about an hour per day, 6 days per week, of cardio and do a circuit training 3 days per week. I basically had to start over from scratch. I'll continue the same routine for the next few months until I'm sure my body can do more with the weights. It looks like I'll be "smaller" than I ever was in my adult life, muscular wise. If my health holds up, it will probably take me a year to get back all my size and strength.
I did come upon something unexpected. I changed my eating. I now eat 6 meals per day instead of 4 meals and 2 protein shakes. I now eat 7 servings of fruits/veggies, a mixture of fresh and frozen. I'm taking in about 25% I normally would of dairy, red meat, pork and chicken. I'm surprised to report that this change in eating seems to have accelerated my healing from injury, but also fatigue and soreness from lifting.

Stop teasing me. sneer This is what I call forplay. sneer
Good for you Bada, you're going to need all that training when I punch your lights out. Seriously man, good going ! I'm also proud of the fact that you're aware of proper diet. I've seen so many buff dudes with large bellys. That show's they dont know how important a proper diet is.
Good luck the rest of the way with your training. Maybe we could swap training tips along the way.

Good to hear Bada. Healthy lifestyle=healthy organism. Keep on doing what you're doing, and the rest will come in time. It's always easier/faster to regain your size, then it takes to get it originally so that shouldn't be a prob for you. thumbsup
Agreed.
